AGES BASE is located in the "Okinawa Craft Forest", about 15 minutes by car from Naha Airport. Okinawan wood is turned into an original pen & keychain! Why not experience the fun of "craftsmanship"? You can also choose different experiences for each group! ⚫︎Pen making and polishing experience (time required: about 60 minutes) Use a woodworking lathe to polish the shaft of a wooden pen with sandpaper. Each time you polish it, the wood surface becomes smoother and you can create your own original pen while enjoying the changes in the beauty of the wood grain. ⚫︎Pen making and carving experience (time required: about 120 to 180 minutes) Use a woodworking lathe to carve the shaft of a wooden pen with a bit (blade) into your favorite shape. Make a completely original pen while enjoying the beauty of the wood grain. ⚫︎Keychain polishing experience (time required: about 40 minutes) Use a woodworking lathe to polish the shaft of a wooden keychain with sandpaper. Each time you polish it, the wood surface becomes smoother, and you can enjoy the changes in the beauty of the wood grain as you create your own original keychain. ⚫︎Pen & Keychain (Time required: approx. 120-180 minutes) You will create a total of two items, a wooden pen and a keychain, using the same wood. The wooden pen's shaft is carved into the desired shape using a cutting tool, and then polished to finish. The keychain is polished to finish.
