It's 100% worth the money and not a tourist trap. The instructor, Sumida Sensei, was very patient and carefully taught me how to handle a katana. In the end, the improvement was visible. I started as a newbie, and at the end of the class, I was able to cut a tatami mat, bringing me a great sense of achievement. Really is worth a try!

Samurai culture has been built up over centuries since ancient times. The stage art of "Kembu" carries it on through dance. We want samurai enthusiasts throughout Japan and the world to know the charm of Kembu, so we are holding workshops that extract highlights from the works so that anyone can enjoy them. Why not interpret the poems and dance to their stories and reminisce about the era in which the samurai lived? This time, from among the many performances, we will introduce Rai Sanyo's Chinese poem "Hachiman-ko". Let's dance powerfully to the image of Minamoto no Yoritomo and Ashikaga Takauji's ancestor Minamoto no Yoshiie, who went on an expedition to Oshu during the Gosannen War. - "Sword techniques" required in the play - Basic sword handling - About the expression "mitate" using a fan - Explanation of the poems and texts - Demonstration performance by the instructor - Commemorative photo, if desired, wear "stage costume" - For hygiene reasons, tabi socks can be purchased for 300 yen. If you have tabi, please bring them with you. In addition, we recommend tabi socks with bleached soles.
