Why not create a memorable memory of your trip to Yamanashi Prefecture by making Oshino Hakkai Soba noodles using meltwater from Mt. Fuji? This is a hands-on experience of making a traditional Japanese dish with a long history. Oshino Hakkai is a tourist destination with eight ponds fed by spring water from Mt. Fuji. The spring-fed ponds are highly transparent and have been selected as one of Japan's 100 famous springs, making Oshino Hakkai a popular spot for delicious soba noodles. While soba noodle-making experiences are available throughout Japan, this is the only place where you can enjoy soba noodles made with Mt. Fuji's spring water. Anyone can easily make Oshino Hakkai soba. This experience is suitable for beginners, including those with limited cooking experience, small children, and those who have never made soba before. Many of our past guests have booked with groups of family and friends, and the more people there, the more fun it becomes. The extraordinary experience of making noodles is highly enjoyable for both children and adults. We also offer a dyeing experience, where you can try traditional Japanese dyeing techniques using natural materials. This experience can be combined with the hoto experience. Each step of the dyeing experience is carefully explained, making it a safe and enjoyable experience for those new to dyeing and those bringing children. The natural feel of natural materials and the craftsmanship of your own hands create a one-of-a-kind product that no one else can imitate. ◆Recommended for◆ Those who want to try famous Yamanashi Prefecture dishes Those who want to make Yamanashi Prefecture's local dishes Those looking for activities at Lake Yamanaka or Lake Kawaguchi Those who want to experience cooking with their children Those looking for an experience program Those who are having trouble sightseeing on rainy days Those looking for sightseeing in English
Really enjoyed the soba making class, the instructions were shown to me visually. My sensei tried her best to explain in English which I appreciated as well as teach Japanese words. At the end I managed to eat my soba according to my taste. It was presented as cold dipping noodles. Enjoyed the session, my sensei was lovely and will come again! Good for solo travellers.

A small tofu shop that challenges new tofu making methods while inheriting the local traditional "frozen tofu" production technology in the highlands of Yatsugatake, Nagano Prefecture, at an altitude of 1100m. We are particular about the ingredients and use only delicious local water and soybeans. Why don't you see the craftsmanship at the small tofu factory "Sennen Tofu" in the village and make tofu with your own hands? Children can enjoy the experience of making tofu because it uses a small wooden mold. Finally, in addition to the tofu made by yourself, you can sample various dishes using tofu made by craftsmen. (Example: Okara salad, soy milk tempura, stewed frozen tofu) We usually make cotton tofu from March to November, but you can make local specialty "frozen tofu" from December to February. * Frozen tofu is a traditional preserved food that is cut and frozen overnight. An English-speaking guide will accompany you to facilitate conversations with the craftsmen. ~ Flow of the day ~ ①Meeting: Meet at the shop.
