If you want to fully enjoy Wazuka, the home of tea, we recommend the tea picking experience! Wazuka Town cultivates so many tea leaves that it is called the origin of tea, and even today it is a production area that produces just under 40% of Uji tea. At Wazukaya, the "Tea Soba Making Experience" using "Wazuka Tea" is very popular, but if you are going to make Cha Soba, why not try picking the tea yourself? At the Wazuka tea plantation, we offer a Wazuka tea picking experience from March to November. The set includes tea picking experience, tea soba noodles, and tea leaf tempura making experience. You can enjoy the finished dish on the spot. Also, it takes about 30 minutes to get to Nara Park from Wazuka Town, so you can make plans that also include sightseeing in Nara.

We will bring the rental kimono to your accommodation and dress you up. At “Azuki no Sato”, craftsmen experience and teach Japanese sweets. After the experience, you can relax with Japanese sweets and matcha. There is also an exhibition room for Factory tour and Japanese confectionery tools. You will experience the traditional culture of flower arrangement in a Kyoto townhouse. After learning the basics, you are free to arrange the flowers as you like. A full-scale maiko and geisha transformation studio produced by a long-established Kyoto kimono store that has been in business for over 100 Year! The kimono uses a hand-painted Kyoto Yuzen dyed gem by a traditional craftsman. The obi is a real single knot. A professional photographer will carefully pose you.

In the renowned Kyoto bamboo shoot region of Oharano in Nishikyo Ward, a bamboo shoot farmer who manages the bamboo groves will provide an easy-to-understand explanation of everything from the ecology to the cultural significance of bamboo shoots. Participants will get to experience harvesting using a unique hoe specific to this region, and enjoy dishes prepared with the fresh bamboo shoots they have harvested themselves (four dishes typically eaten by the farmers will be served, along with drinks such as sake). While your bamboo shoots are simmering, you will join in a bamboo chopstick-making activity at Shop & Gallery Chikubuen (matcha and snacks included). During your meal, you will use the bamboo chopsticks you make, along with bamboo tableware and cups crafted by the farmer, enjoying the food amidst the scenic bamboo grove. This is a bamboo-themed tour that allows you to fully experience the culture of Kyoto bamboo shoots. You'll be guided by a team of a farmer who is passionately committed to cultivating the highest quality bamboo shoots and an interpreter guide deeply rooted in and knowledgeable about the local area.
