To this day, the company has dedicated itself to the creation of Nishijin-ori obi (sashes). At the workshop, you'll learn about the history of Nishijin-ori and the techniques of its artisans while touching the actual weaving tools used. You'll also get a close-up tour of the jacquard loom, where you'll experience the craftsmanship and power of the loom. During the hand weaving experience, you'll weave a table center approximately 20cm x 30cm on a special hand loom. The texture changes depending on the strength of the weave and the tension of the weft thread, creating a fascinating experience that will leave you lost in time. Neriko is a black pill-shaped incense that was widely used during the Heian period. In The Tale of Genji, there is a scene in which Hikaru Genji, Murasaki no Ue, and other characters are actually created and evaluated, and it is still known as one of the Six Kinds of Kaorumono. It is also used in front of the charcoal in winter during tea ceremonies. Nerika is not something to be used at room temperature, but rather to be warmed to enjoy its aroma. We placed lit charcoal in an incense burner filled with ashes, placed incense sticks on top of the warmed ashes, and enjoyed the scent that wafted through the air. Enjoy the relaxing time and space as the charcoal warms the ashes, along with the scent. It is also recommended before welcoming guests.
