Blessed with an abundance of underground water veins that spring up from the Momoyama Hills, Fushimi was once called "Fushimizu" (literally "fushimizu" in Japanese), and it is said that full-scale brewing began here about 400 years ago because the water was suitable for sake brewing. It flourished as a castle town and a port on the Yodo River on the Tokaido, and sake breweries with white walls stand out along the Uji River and canals. The streets of Fushimi, where you can enjoy the atmosphere of a sake brewing town, with ten-koku boats sailing among swaying willows, have been designated as the "Fushimi Minamihama Neighborhood Landscape Development District" by Kyoto City. ~Time Schedule~13:00 [Meet at the north ticket gate of Keihan Electric Railway Nakashojima Station] Meet in front of the sake barrel object located immediately after exiting the north ticket gate! This is where the tour begins! It's a flat road, but you'll be walking about 2 kilometers, so please wear comfortable shoes on the day. 13:15 [Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum] ☆Three types of sake tastings, including Daiginjo, and a special Gekkeikan sake cup included☆The building is a wooden storehouse built in the Meiji era that is still in use. You can drink the underground water used in sake brewing from the well in the courtyard. Just like Fushimi sake, it is very soft and delicious, so please try it. You will be surprised at how soft it is. In the exhibition room, you can see traditional sake brewing tools, which are designated as tangible folk cultural properties of Kyoto City. 13:50 [Fushimi Yume Hyakushu] ☆Winter limited sake ice cream included☆Shop & cafe "Fushimi Yume Hyakushu". In fact, this building is the former main store of Gekkeikan, built in the Taisho era. In addition to Gekkeikan, various Kyoto sakes and souvenirs are sold in the store. We have prepared a 3-type sake tasting set including appetizers here. 14:30 [Kizakura Kappa Country] ☆Kyoto's oldest local beer included☆ Kiizakura is famous for its sake commercials using kappa characters, but it is also the first company to make local beer in Kyoto. Therefore, in addition to the sake manufacturing process, Fushimizugura is characterized by the fact that you can tour the beer factory. After the tour, try tasting sake and beer in the lovely courtyard. 15:15 [Aburacho] ☆Authentic sake tasting set of three types☆ We have more than 80 types of sake from all 18 breweries in Fushimi, mainly ginjo sake and daiginjo sake, and more than 100 types including seasonal limited edition sake. In addition, at the sake tasting counter attached to the store, you can compare three types in small cup size as well as a glass. Just looking at the bottles will make you feel happy.

A swordsmith will teach you the techniques of Japanese sword making and spend a whole day making a short sword with a blade length of less than 30 cm. During the experience, charcoal cutting, tamaheshi, tsutsubokashi, forging, unbending, fire making, soil placement, quenching, and blacksmith sharpening will be performed. The sword will then be registered and sharpened at a later date, and will be shipped to your home along with a registration certificate. If you select an option, you can also choose a Japanese sword such as a wakizashi (large) (small), katana, or tachi. Registration, packaging, and shipping fees are all included in the price. *Due to the Firearms and Swords Possession Control Act, the swordsmith will engrave the swordsmith's name on the sword. It is possible to engrave the participant's name as well. In addition, registration and sharpening are required, so it will take 6 to 9 months to deliver the sword. *The address, name, and phone number are required for the owner's details for the registration review and for shipping the finished product. If they are different from those registered with Activity Japan, please be sure to contact us here. If there is no contact, we will register and ship the sword as is. *If shipping overseas, please check for yourself whether the country can receive Japanese swords. In addition, export procedures, packaging fees, and shipping fees will be required separately. The amount varies depending on the country, so please contact us in advance. A swordsmith will teach you how to make Japanese knives using blacksmith techniques. Using the same material as Japanese swords, Tamahagane, the forged iron is shaped with a hammer. You can make your own clay holder and add a blade crest. Attach the blade, cut your name on it, and sharpen it to complete it. Although it is a physically demanding job, the swordsmith will be happy to assist you, so don't worry if you are not confident in doing the heavy lifting, such as children or women. You can take photos and videos while working! The trial fee is for one Japanese knife. You can also make one book for two or more people. In that case, please let us know how many people will be participating in the experience when making a reservation. If you are making a reservation for three or more, it will take a little longer. Please arrive with plenty of time to spare before the closing time. We may be able to move the start time forward, so please contact us.
We had an awesome time at the knife making experience in master Masaya Yoshidas workshop. One of his apprentices, Robert, a native English speaker, instructed and helped us all the way to the finished product. We love the knife and now use it in our Kitchen on a daily basis. Robert also answered every question we had about the rich history behind the craft of Japanese sword making and we got to observe and chat with the master too. Your knife is made from the same Tamagahane steel as a Katana, so it's a really cool and practical souvenir. Thank you so much for having us! Great memories!

You will spend a whole day making a small scale attached to the Japanese sword. The material is the same as the Japanese sword, and the world's highest grade iron (tamahagane) is used. You can make a soil holder by yourself and insert a blade crest. Attach the blade, cut your name on it, make a scabbard, and sharpen it to complete it. Only at our studio can you experience making a small pattern and sharpening it. You will learn how to make a Japanese sword while working, and you will not know until you experience the work of striking iron to change its shape and create ripples, so I think it will be a great learning experience. We will proceed according to the ability of the person who will experience it, so there is no need to worry about minors and women. Photos and videos can be taken during production! The fee will be the experience fee for one petite. Two or more people can make one. In that case, please let us know when you make a reservation. If you make a reservation for two or more, it will take about an additional hour for each one after the second one. Please join us with plenty of time before the end time. It is also possible to advance the start time, so please contact us.

Iron is a human invention. People have walked with iron, as it is said, "Whoever controls iron controls the world." A Japanese sword cannot be made good unless it is made of iron using the traditional ironmaking method. With this plan, you can experience making iron from iron sand using the traditional iron-making method. Repeat the work of cutting charcoal into small pieces and adding iron sand to determine the "steel" part from the finished lump "kera". You can take the finished product home with you. ★We have someone here who can explain things in English, so you don't need an interpreter.

If you want to fully enjoy Wazuka, the home of tea, we recommend the tea picking experience! Wazuka Town cultivates so many tea leaves that it is called the origin of tea, and even today it is a production area that produces just under 40% of Uji tea. At Wazukaya, the "Tea Soba Making Experience" using "Wazuka Tea" is very popular, but if you are going to make Cha Soba, why not try picking the tea yourself? At the Wazuka tea plantation, we offer a Wazuka tea picking experience from March to November. The set includes tea picking experience, tea soba noodles, and tea leaf tempura making experience. You can enjoy the finished dish on the spot. Also, it takes about 30 minutes to get to Nara Park from Wazuka Town, so you can make plans that also include sightseeing in Nara.
