By turning your handmade work into a kakejiku, you can experience Japanese culture in depth. Our company was founded in 1936 and has been providing traditional crafts for over 80 years. By drawing calligraphy or a painting with a brush and ink, you can enjoy a unique Japanese experience. Kakejiku uses techniques with over 1000 years of history to create a work of wabi-sabi that is refined for beauty and preservation. You can choose to make a full-fledged kakejiku or a simple magnetic tapestry, and take home the work you made that day.

In the calligraphy class, the teacher teaches each student carefully and in an easy-to-understand manner, so you can write beautiful Japanese in a short time. You can learn Japanese culture through calligraphy and know the wonders of Japan. Once you can write Japanese, you can use a calligraphy brush to write anything you like on a T-shirt. This allows you to go home wearing a t-shirt on the spot so you don't have to ship it overseas. In the calligraphy class, you will first learn about the history of calligraphy by explaining the brushes and touching on Japanese culture. The teacher treats each student with care, so everyone can understand and write calligraphy. Once you can write Japanese well, you can create your own original T-shirt by writing whatever you want on the T-shirt. One T-shirt is included in the experience fee. You can continue sightseeing wearing your original T-shirt, or use it as a gift for your family and friends.

This is a hands-on class for foreign visitors to Japan to experience the traditional Japanese culture of calligraphy. Located in Jimbocho, the town of second-hand books, this calligraphy class is supported by leading instructors who will help you have a memorable experience of Japanese culture, calligraphy. We will assign kanji to your name and prepare a sample in advance. First, while grinding the ink, the instructor will explain the calligraphy tools, how to sit, how to hold and use the brush, etc. You will be carefully taught how to write the kanji for your name, your favorite characters, or the words you want to write, and at the end, you will finish it into a colored paper or fan to take home as a souvenir. Writing Japanese using a brush and ink is an unforgettable experience. In this workshop, you will not only experience calligraphy, but also learn how to write your own name in kanji or katakana. At the end of the workshop, students will create a one-of-a-kind handwritten souvenir by writing their name on colored paper or on a name tag. Write your own name in Japanese and take it home with you, along with your memories of Japan. Have you ever seen a huge calligraphy performance? Opportunities to experience calligraphy performance are limited, and it is something everyone should experience at least once in their life. Calligraphy performance is more than just writing, it is an art that reflects your heart. You can also relieve your daily fatigue and stress and have a dynamic and powerful experience. In this calligraphy performance experience, you will be able to write on one full sheet of paper (69cm x 136cm) and two pieces of paper cut in half (34.5cm x 136cm). You can take home your finished work. At the end of the experience, please add your name to the giant calligraphy work that I created, measuring approximately 2.5m x 5m. Experience location: The event will be held at a former Japanese confectionery store in Sadogashima, Niigata Prefecture. You can reach us by car or bus, and the bus stop is a 5-minute walk away. There is also free parking, which can be reached in just 30 seconds on foot. Language: You can choose from Japanese or English. Note: If the experience is for about 4 people, it will take about 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
