Plan description

This is a workshop where you can experience calligraphy in a short time in Namba. Even if you are a beginner, you can rest assured that the instructor will give you detailed instructions. Writing Japanese using a brush and ink is an unforgettable experience. In this workshop, you will not only experience calligraphy, but also learn how to write your own name in kanji or katakana. At the end of the workshop, students will create a one-of-a-kind handwritten souvenir by writing their name on colored paper or on a name tag. Write your own name in Japanese and take it home with you, along with your memories of Japan. Dotonbori, Nihonbashi, and Kuromon Market are close by, so you can go to those areas before or after the workshop, so you can make the most of your day!

Please aim for the bus stop for Osaka Airport in Namba, and from there there is no parking lot 30 meters in the direction of travel (one-way), so please use a nearby coin parking lot.

If you arrive by other means of transportation

If you are walking from the ground, the landmark is the bus stop for Osaka Airport near the Namba scramble intersection, above which the Hanshin Expressway passes. There is a Family Mart, so it's the building two blocks to the right. If you are coming from underground, look for exit 7 on the Midosuji Line. When you exit from Exit 7, go straight for 30 meters and the building will be on your left.

Q. Hello Will this calligraphy course on upcoming Monday take place? We are interested for 3 persons. And very important: we would like to write our 3 names on a long tapestry of about 1 meter lenght. Would this be possible? Best regards Maurice Nyffeler

A. Yes, we are planning to hold one. And writing on the tapestry is fine, too.
If 3 of you'd like to join this workshop, let us know by tomorrow morning as we will make it closed for you. We won't let anyone else join because we need to make the workshop a bit modified.
