Hinohara Village is the only village on land in Tokyo. Deep inside the village, on a ridge well over 700m above sea level, lies the old house "Kyu Kobayashi Family Residence". Built in the mid-Edo period (more than 320 years ago), this mountain house is literally an "old house in the sky". This tour, which takes you there by mountain monorail that goes straight up a super steep slope of nearly 45 degrees, is an extremely extraordinary experience that will leave a deep impression on your memory, both geographically and historically, as well as physically. The tour meets at the Tokyo Back Mountain Base in front of JR Musashi-Itsukaichi Station, and includes transportation to the site by private car. *Hinohara Village has been designated as a national ecotourism promotion area, and as an exception, transportation to the ecotour site by car is permitted. (Your accompanying guide, Jinken, is a certified eco-tour guide for Hinode Village.) For lunch, you will be served at the Kobayashi Family House, with a lunchbox of light snacks (Cuban sandwiches) made specially for the Tokyo Urayama Base, and coffee brewed with water that participants themselves will have drawn from a special spring in the area. After experiencing the old mountain house, we will move on to another highlight of the day. We will stop at Kanoto Rock, a power spot known only to those in the know, and walk along the valley using chains. Here, too, you can experience a part of the local mountain worship and lifestyle culture. On the way back, we will cross a suspension bridge over the valley just beyond the Akigawa River from the village and enjoy a foot bath at a popular local hot spring. Once your feet are warm, we will head to a local cafe renovated from an old house, recommended by our guide (Jinken). We will take a break at CAFE POUND, the most popular cafe in the area, renovated from a Showa-era house by the owner himself. A private car will pick you up from the station, and you will be accompanied by a Hinode Village certified eco-tour guide. It will be a very fulfilling day where you can experience the lifestyle and culture of a mountain village. This is a premium tour with a capacity of only 6 people. In addition, you will have the rare experience of seeing the VIP area of the National Stadium, which is normally closed to the public. *Consecutive interpretation from Japanese to English will be provided. ■Profile ・Hiroyuki Sakai (scheduled to be in charge of lunch) Born in Kagoshima Prefecture in 1942. He began training in French cuisine at the age of 17, traveled alone to Australia at the age of 19 to train for a year and a half, and then returned to Japan. After training at a famous restaurant in Tokyo, he went independent in 1980 at the age of 38 and opened the French restaurant "La Rochelle". In 1994, Sakai appeared on the TV program "Iron Chef" as a French Iron Chef, and became the ultimate Iron Chef in "The Complete Iron Chef". Since then, he has been active in a wide range of fields as a leading figure in French cuisine in Japan, and in 2005, he was awarded the Chevalier Medal of Agricultural Merit by the French Republic. His dishes are characterized by their delicate presentation and beautiful use of color, incorporating kaiseki cuisine techniques into French cuisine. During his time as a chef at John Kanaya Western Restaurant, he established a style of "French kaiseki" that made use of these techniques. With his passion and curiosity for cooking and his strong service spirit, Sakai's dishes continue to fascinate many gourmets. ・Hibiki Piano (live piano performance scheduled: December 21st) He started playing the piano at the age of 6. He won many competitions while attending Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, and after graduating, he was selected as a pianist for the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Central Band. He has been invited to perform at national events, state guests, foreign guests, etc., as well as at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, Nippon Budokan, Saitama Super Arena, and other venues across the country. He posts a wide range of songs on YouTube, from slow to super-fast techniques, and currently has 240,000 subscribers and has exceeded 100 million total views. He has released four CDs and a collection of virtuoso and healing sheet music. He is currently on a nationwide solo tour. Miyaken (live piano performance scheduled for December 22nd) Born in 1990 in Kagoshima City. He graduated from the Faculty of Music at Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts as a trombone major with honors, and is currently performing as a guest in a professional orchestra as a trombonist. He is a piano YouTuber who posts videos on YouTube about street pianos. He respects the original songs, but is well-received for his gorgeous arrangements that make use of his main job of orchestral sound, and improvises a wide range of songs by ear. His channel currently has over 260,000 subscribers. In addition to appearing on NHK-FM and Fuji TV's "TEPPEN: The Showbiz World's Special Skills Championship" Piano Showdown, he has also held collaborative live shows with many other pianists.

Born in Hiroo, Shibuya Ward, Tokyo in 1956. His grandfather was Nakajima Sadajiro, the first head chef of Hoshioka Saryo, run by Kitaoji Rosanjin, and he was born and raised in a family of chefs. After training in Kyoto, in 1980 he succeeded his father, Sadazo, and became the second owner of Shinjuku Kappo Nakajima. With the taste and technique he has honed since he was a child, he expresses both traditional and new Japanese cuisine. He is highly regarded in the culinary world. He is active in many areas, including media appearances and writing. ・Aoyagi Misen (Japanese culture experience/calligraphy, scheduled for October 28, November 18, November 25) He began learning calligraphy at the age of 4 under the influence of his grandmother. He has performed calligraphy performances in over 10 countries around the world. In Japan, he has written calligraphy for the TV anime "Dororo" based on the original work by Osamu Tezuka, the famous hunting game "Monster Hunter Rise", and other games.
