Our ancestors were shinobi samurai who started to serve Tokugawa Ieyasu (the first shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate) in 1582. The clan served the shogunate for 265 years. In 1868, the clan declined the invitation from the Meiji Government and became independent. We are the only lasting shinobi clan in Japan. We invite you to come to our clan dojo where real master practitioner and professional interpreters take charge of all workshops and seminars. This is good for people who want to get a deeper insight into our ninja and samurai cultures . We still handcraft our tools and weapons. Feel free to ask any questions as we have kept our shinobi samurai tradition for over 450 years.Our ancestors trained locals and their servants to be shinobi.(Ninja is a new word used in movies. Shinobi is the word which was commonly used in the feudal times,)The term "shinobi samurai" is not well-known, but you can be one of the few who knows the history and shinobi philosophy and mindsets. This is an experience plan to try out a Japanese sword (real sword) at a real martial arts dojo. You can participate with peace of mind as a qualified practitioner of the Yushin-ryu sword techniques of the Koryu Iaido dojo will provide safe and careful instruction. The "Armored Warrior/Warrior" course will involve wearing the martial arts uniform provided by the inn. (For women, we also have feminine kimonos like the one in the photo♪) You will wear the "armor" owned by the inn. We also have a "tachi" sword for the armor, which will make your photos and videos look even better! If you wish, you can try out swinging and trying out the sword while wearing the "armor".
