This winter, the most anticipated activity is airboarding, taking place in Takayama City, Oku-Mino, Gifu Prefecture. After a brief instruction, you'll experience the joy of turning, stopping, and maneuvering with ease! Airboarding is a winter outdoor experience. Even winter sports beginners can enjoy participating with confidence. We also offer free photos (one per group) for every group. The sense of speed as you ski along the snow surface and the sight of you skiing, kicking up clouds of snow, are truly impressive. Since you ski while lying down, there's no need to worry about falling like with skiing or snowboarding. Even first-timers are sure to find themselves carving amazing tracks on the slopes before they know it! This is an incredibly rare snow activity, with very few locations in Japan offering it.
Take on the challenge of skiing on an airboard! Start on gentle slopes and, as you improve, glide down steep slopes and uneven, ungroomed courses! Lower your gaze to the world of pure white slopes and enjoy a truly immersive skiing experience. It's not just skiing, there are plenty of playful elements too! We have a variety of props and programs available, such as airboard tunnel diving and snow flag championships, to help you improve while having fun like in a game.
The ski resort is roughly divided into an unpacked zone and a packed snow zone. The unpacked zone has terrain that makes it difficult for skiers and snowboarders to enter, so you can avoid the crowds and ski without stress. Shokawa Kogen Ski Resort is relatively empty, so if you make good use of the open spaces, you can ski down long courses.
Tripper is the only airboard guide service authorized by Shokawa Kogen Ski Resort. We have permission from the ski resort to ski on all courses.

Plan attractions
Bends by shifting your weight The board will turn by shifting your weight to either side of the board.
Basic operation 1 [Stop] You can brake by raising your body in a V-position and dropping your body off the air board.
Basic operation 2 Shift your weight, put your feet forward, and look in the direction you want to turn. If you can do these three things, the Airboard will head in the direction you want to go.
Aiming for a more beautiful form Once you stand up, your arms will be fully extended. Your form is gradually improving.
Improve your skills through play Use the air board to create a tunnel and dive in. You'll find that your skills will improve as you play.
Let's skate in perfect unison with our friends By skating at equal intervals with your friends, you will learn to control your speed.
Dynamic braking On steep slopes, you can brake with control by raising the air board up the mountain. It also looks cool.
Bend using a hula hoop pole By setting a target, it's easier to grasp the trigger to turn. Your line of sight is also perfect.
Skiing in the ungroomed snow zone In the ungroomed snow zone, it is easy to control your speed, so even those who are not used to it can get used to the speed.
Enjoy Airboarding with friends Get together with friends and share the fun. Enjoy Airboard with everyone!
Before you know it, it's a beautiful run! As you get used to the speed, your skiing will improve rapidly. Before you know it, you'll be creating beautiful tracks on the slopes.
Sledding is also one of the fun things to do Choose a spot and try sledding. The view is great as the view is high up!
Tea break Take a short break during the tour to recharge your energy with tea time on the snow!
Feeling refreshed as you kick up snow dust If the snow quality is good, you can kick up a cloud of snow as you ski down the slopes. It looks and feels like you're speeding!
A light jump might be good too! You can even take advantage of the unevenness of the slopes to jump lightly. The floating sensation is amazing!
Once you get used to it, try long rides Once your overall technique has improved, try some longer runs. You'll be amazed at how much you've improved.
Capture that moment Once you get used to it, you'll be able to look straight into the camera.
It doesn't hurt even if you fall! Since the air board is similar to a fall, it doesn't hurt even if you fall.
It was so much fun, I was laughing while skating Once they had time to ski, the smiles were all over the place. Many participants were laughing as they skied!
Snow Flag Championship The tour concludes with a test of your luck this year at the Snow Flag Championships.
Enjoy airboarding! The half day went by in a flash. We all enjoyed running on the airboards together.
Time schedule
Meeting place and reception at the ski resort Please gather at the ski resort or free rest area. *Please rent equipment and change into clothes before gathering. After the reception, program information, and paperwork, the airboarding will begin.
Stretching and basic exercises We will stretch to loosen up your body to prevent injuries. After an explanation of the structure of the airboard, we will practice the basics of stopping and turning on flat ground.
Finally on the slopes Finally, head to the slopes. First, practice on gentle slopes and master stopping and turning. You won't be able to do it well at first, but you'll gradually get the hang of it. Don't rush.
The important thing about airboarding is that it stops. There are three steps to stopping. Gradually learn them and eventually master a cool way to stop.
First, practice from one turn. At first, practice one turn at a time. At first, it may feel like you're not turning, but you're definitely turning, so don't give up and keep shifting your weight.
Acquire consecutive turns Once you've mastered the basic movements, it's time to practice consecutive turns. You'll gradually feel yourself getting used to handling the airboard. If you go too fast, you'll naturally be able to stop as you learned earlier.
Incorporating play into skill acquisition By incorporating play, you will be able to make turns before you know it. Try making a tunnel with the air board or turning using the lift pillar as a target.
Challenge the steep slope With repeated practice, you will be able to ski down fairly steep slopes. Aim to improve by being conscious of your weight shift, line of sight, and footwork. First, go back to the basics and master each turn.
The finish is a pleasant air board run Once you've mastered the steep slopes, try changing your starting point and enjoying airboard running depending on your individual ability. Enjoy the speed that feels comfortable to you without pushing yourself too hard.
Tea time on the snow Recharge your energy towards the end of the tour with hot drinks and snacks.
Commemorative photo with everyone A commemorative photo of today's AirBo and the team. Full of energy!
The snow smoke is so cool! Towards the end of the tour, you've gotten used to the airboard and your form is perfect.
Let's all try skating Let's ski together with friends and be aware of each other.
Using the slope of the slope Try using the slope of the slope to slide down. It's fun because the perspective changes.
Snow Flag Championship Who will be the first to reach the target? The Snow Flag Championship begins.
