Experience vegetarian-friendly "Tomato Balls" (takoyaki-style) in a 70-year-old traditional Japanese house in Nagai, Sumiyoshi Ward, Osaka. *This special plan (lacto-ovo vegetarian) uses no animal ingredients whatsoever and is crafted with a dashi broth infused with the flavors of shiitake mushrooms and kelp. The concentrated umami of additive-free, ripe sun-dried tomatoes, combined with the subtle aroma and bitterness of bell peppers, creates a deep, rich flavor. Take off your shoes in a tatami-floored Japanese-style room and enjoy your own tomato balls in an atmosphere that makes you feel like you've been invited into a Japanese home. The moment you bite into the piping hot tomato balls you've cooked yourself is truly special! The special sauce is made with Suminoe Miso, a specialty of Osaka with a history of over 490 years. Enjoy the unique miso sauce. This plan is popular with vegetarians, those who don't like octopus, and even those who normally enjoy regular takoyaki. The casual, homey atmosphere will delight anyone, whether you're with family, friends, or a couple! It's the perfect place before or after sightseeing at Nagai Park TeamLab Botanical Garden or Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine. This 70-year-old Japanese house remains in Sumiyoshi Nagai, a downtown area of Osaka. Enter the Japanese-style room with tatami mats and shoji screens, take off your shoes, and sit on the tatami mats, and you'll feel as if you've been invited into a Japanese home. In a space enveloped in the warmth of wood, you can grill your own vegetarian "Tomato Balls" (soul food takoyaki style), an original dish from Osaka's "Tako no Ma." You can experience a fusion of "Japanese everyday life" and food culture that you can't get at temples, shrines, or hotels in tourist areas. This plan is also very popular with overseas guests!
We want vegetarians (lacto-ovo-vegetarian) to enjoy Osaka soul food! Tako no Ma's tomato balls were created with the desire to share the deliciousness of takoyaki. Made without any animal ingredients, they're packed with the delicious flavors of vegetables and seaweed. They also use carefully selected domestic ingredients, including Hokkaido's premium wheat "Dolce," Shodoshima soy sauce, a nationally designated tangible cultural property, and 100% plant-based, additive-free rice bran oil. The result is a flavor that surpasses that of authentic takoyaki. It's a Tako no Ma original that can't be replicated anywhere else.
At Tako no Ma, you can bake tomato balls twice. The first time, you'll feel the excitement of pouring the batter and adding the ingredients. When you flip it over, you might hear laughter as you exclaim, "Oh, it's fallen apart!" The second time, your hands will gradually get used to it, and you'll hear cheers of "It's round now!" Children will be engrossed, and adults will recapture their childhood in earnest. You'll spend a special time surrounded by piping hot takoyaki, with smiles naturally spilling over your face. It's a one-of-a-kind experience where smiles will naturally spill over your face.

Plan attractions

Authentic takoyaki made with fresh octopus from the famous Akashi region (if you choose the basic option) They use fresh octopus sourced from Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture, one of Japan's leading octopus-producing areas. The plump texture and rich flavor are wrapped in a batter that is crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. Made with carefully selected domestic ingredients and a unique recipe, these are special takoyaki that can only be enjoyed here.

Luxurious takoyaki made with Japanese Black beef tendon (if beef tendon is selected) The flavorful tendon meat of domestically raised Japanese Black Beef is seasoned with a subtle hint of ginger. Enjoy the moderate chewiness and rich flavor, and when combined with the dough, the rich flavor spreads with every bite. It's a luxurious taste that you'll never forget once you've tried it.

Tomato balls packed with the delicious flavor of vegetables (if vegetarian option selected) This special vegetarian takoyaki is made with a combination of dried tomatoes from Kumamoto Prefecture, as well as domestically grown shiitake mushrooms and bell peppers. The outside is crispy and the inside is soft and fluffy, allowing the delicious flavor of the vegetables to soak into the dough and fill your mouth. Recommended not only for vegetarians, but also for those looking to try a new flavor.

A special time to enjoy in a 70-year-old traditional Japanese house The warmth of the wood and the traditional fittings create a calming atmosphere that is typical of Japan. You'll feel as if you've been invited into a home, and you'll have a relaxing time. The tatami rooms and cooking scenes are all photogenic, making this the perfect experience to create some memorable memories of your trip.

A special moment spent in a tatami room The experience takes place in a tatami room. Surrounded by shoji screens and a tokonoma alcove, you sit on the floor instead of chairs to enjoy your meal, making this a valuable experience that gives you a feel for the everyday life of a Japanese home. The appeal is that you can not only enjoy the food, but also experience the "culture of life." (Chairs are provided.)

"A special moment to end with Uji tea and Japanese sweets" At the end of the experience, you will be served tea from Uji, Kyoto, and seasonal Japanese sweets. Refresh your palate with the fragrant Uji tea, then take a break with a Japanese sweet treat. This is a special time where you can enjoy not only takoyaki, but also Japanese food culture with all five senses.

A maximum of 4 people, so you can relax and feel safe. The experience is limited to small groups, so each person can take their time and enjoy the experience. Another appeal is that you can enjoy it in a relaxed atmosphere.
