[Ishikawa, Tsubata] Creating a vibrant Satoyama – Challenge 1: Restoring the mountain roads of Yoshikura

The Yoshikura district of Tsubata Town is a mountain village located approximately 30 minutes by car from Kanazawa Station. In the mountains behind the Yoshikura settlement, there is a mountain path once used by local residents. The mountain path offers a rich natural environment and attractive spots, including a scenic spot overlooking the village, a bright deciduous broadleaf forest, a place to pick wild vegetables, a reservoir, and a bamboo grove. However, it is now largely deserted, and various issues need to be addressed, such as overgrown vegetation that obscures visibility and the spread of overgrown bamboo. At this event, we will examine the condition of the mountain path and consider the issues. We will then work to restore the path by trimming the vegetation and cutting down bamboo, thereby working to restore the lush satoyama environment. For lunch, we will enjoy delicious mountain produce, including wild vegetables and other locally grown vegetables that we have gathered together.
