Plan description

A winter feature of Ishigaki Island, manta rays can be seen feeding on the surface of the water on the remote islands of the Yaeyama Islands, such as Ishigaki Island, Kuroshima Island, Taketomi Island, and Kohama Island. They can be seen with a high probability from December to March in areas with strong northerly winds, such as the west side of Kuroshima Island and Osaki on Ishigaki Island. Unlike the manta rays that gather at the cleaning station, these manta rays feed on plankton on the surface of the water, so it is very impressive to see them coming up close with their mouths wide open. They are so absorbed in feeding that they skillfully avoid us while catching plankton. It is easier to see them snorkeling than diving. They can sometimes approach the boat suddenly, so you need to be on your guard even during your lunch break.

We will not offer refunds even if you are unable to see them. ・Whether or not the direct manta ray course will take place will be determined by the forecast announced by the Ishigakijima Local Meteorological Observatory at 5:00 PM the day before. We will contact you by mobile phone the day before your course. ・Even if the forecast indicates that you can go to the manta point, you may not be able to go if safety cannot be ensured. ・At manta point, you will be required to wear a life jacket or wetsuit, and skin diving is prohibited. ・Currents may occur at manta point. If the current is strong, you will snorkel at another point.
