We will back the calligraphy and ink painting. We will use a brush to paste Japanese paper on the back of the painting or calligraphy. This process is called backing. The completed work will be handed over to you in a file. You will choose one piece of calligraphy and one piece of painting to create two pieces. ~Schedule for the day~14:00 History of hanging scrolls and today's process We will explain the history and types of hanging scrolls. We will also tell you the schedule for today. 14:30 Select the main paper Select the calligraphy or painting to be used for the hanging scroll. You can also bring your own. *If you would like to make your own calligraphy or other work, please let us know in advance. 15:00 Preparation for backing We will prepare the Japanese paper and glue required for backing. 15:20 Backing We will use a brush to back the selected main paper. 15:50 Drying Let the backing dry and while it is drying, you can choose the cloth to decorate it with.
