At the "Ninshu Ware Gallery & Matcha Shop," produced by a pottery maker that purveyors the world heritage site Ninnaji Temple in Kyoto, you can experience a pottery landscape modeled after a dry landscape garden, and enjoy matcha tea from Ippodo and Japanese sweets from Senbon Gyokujuken. This is a plan that you can enjoy. At our store, which is a renovated Kyoto townhouse built over 100 years ago, you can easily experience Kyoto culture such as Kyoto's handmade pottery, Kyoto townhouses, matcha and Japanese sweets, and Karesansui.

We have a dry landscape garden space in the small courtyard beyond the high-ceilinged hibukuro, which is a characteristic of Kyomachiya houses. There, you can enjoy Hitoshi's unique pottery landscape experience by drawing sand ripples with a special rake and placing the pottery to create each design. We can create designs using seasonal flowers and accessories, so you can create the shape you want. There are no special rules, so feel free to experience it.

Please choose your favorite bowl from 12 different colorful matcha bowls, and our staff will prepare the matcha for you at the counter. You can also watch the staff prepare the matcha right in front of you. Please enjoy Ippodo's matcha and seasonal Japanese sweets from Senbon Tamajuken in your favorite bowl.

The store retains the atmosphere of a Kyomachiya, and there are many exhibits that give you a sense of history, such as newspapers from 90 years ago. In addition, at the tableware gallery, you can purchase colorful pottery as souvenirs that preserve the tradition of being used as a purveyor to the World Heritage Site of Ninna-ji Temple, but are also dishwasher and microwave safe.
