AGES BASE is located in the "Okinawa Craft Forest", about 15 minutes by car from Naha Airport. Okinawan wood is turned into an original pen & keychain! Why not experience the fun of "craftsmanship"? You can also choose different experiences for each group! ⚫︎Pen making and polishing experience (time required: about 60 minutes) Use a woodworking lathe to polish the shaft of a wooden pen with sandpaper. Each time you polish it, the wood surface becomes smoother and you can create your own original pen while enjoying the changes in the beauty of the wood grain. ⚫︎Pen making and carving experience (time required: about 120 to 180 minutes) Use a woodworking lathe to carve the shaft of a wooden pen with a bit (blade) into your favorite shape. Make a completely original pen while enjoying the beauty of the wood grain. ⚫︎Keychain polishing experience (time required: about 40 minutes) Use a woodworking lathe to polish the shaft of a wooden keychain with sandpaper. Each time you polish it, the wood surface becomes smoother, and you can enjoy the changes in the beauty of the wood grain as you create your own original keychain. ⚫︎Pen & Keychain (Time required: approx. 120-180 minutes) You will create a total of two items, a wooden pen and a keychain, using the same wood. The wooden pen's shaft is carved into the desired shape using a cutting tool, and then polished to finish. The keychain is polished to finish.

You can experience laser engraving at the Azumino Wooden Chopsticks Fab Factory. ★Please make a reservation by phone on the day or if you are alone. Up to 15 people can experience the experience in the workshop. The experience will be held in a home workshop. When you enter the room, the scent of wood fills the air... that alone will relax your mind! Concentrating on making chopsticks will refresh your mind and body! This is an experience that satisfies all five senses with the fresh air, water, and light of Azumino. If you can draw, you can do it, so even small children can experience it. Your child's drawings and letters can be engraved as they are, so if you create one every year on their birthday, it will be a memento of their growth! Experience woodworking using fruit trees in Yamanashi! You can make chopsticks, spoons, and plates using wood that is unique to the city of peaches and grapes, and take them home as souvenirs. We recommend turning fruit trees into wonderful works of art to remember your trip by, and making them into souvenirs. The more you use it, the more you will treasure the feel of the wood. The work is easy. Polish the surface with three sheets of sandpaper and finish it with oil. It is an experience that people of all ages can easily try.

Why not try making "Kumiko" in Noshiro, the city of wood? Noshiro City, Akita Prefecture, is a town at the mouth of the Yoneshiro River, and has a convenient port for transporting felled Akita cedar. Lumber is exported domestically and overseas, and it was called "the No. 1 city of wood in the Orient". Even now, there are many wood-related companies in the city. We will assemble wooden "Kumiko parts" from scratch. There is some fine work, but the work of assembling them together is addictive! The finishing work using a file allows you to feel the pleasant scent of wood. *Wood material: Hiba You can choose from two types of "strap" with a diameter of about 5.6 cm and "coaster" with a diameter of about 10 cm (additional 500 yen). Assemble a frame using wood from Hokkaido and assemble 20 types of wood parts in your favorite combination to create your own original photo frame! You can make a photo frame to your liking. The instructor, Matsuura from Kobo Kaede, is a skilled craftsman who won the Hokkaido Governor's Award, the highest award at the Hokkaido Art Exhibition. He has many years of workshop experience, so even beginners can create fun and long-lasting works. Perfect for independent research during long holidays. Or as a photo frame to put special photos in. The more effort you put in, the better the result!

Try your hand at making an authentic parquet keychain by cutting and gluing parquet blocks that make use of the natural wood color! Wood comes in a variety of colors, from brown, red, yellow, and even purple. The parquet block bars that form the basis of parquet work are made in advance by instructor Matsuura. You cut them with a craftsman's saw and combine them to make hearts, leaves, and any other shape you like. Once firmly glued together, polish them with sandpaper and finish with oil to complete the piece. Instructor Matsuura of Studio Kaede is a talented artist who won the top prize at the Dobi Exhibition in 2019. He will kindly teach even beginners the authentic craftsmanship!

Morodomi Town, Saga City, Saga Prefecture, is adjacent to the furniture town of Okawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and is the second largest furniture producing area after Okawa. Why don't you make your own spoons and plates in such a woodworking town? It is possible to make it if you are an elementary school student or older. It is also made by children around 4 years old. This is your chance to have a lecture directly from a craftsman. Let's make only one original tableware in the world. Parents and children, family, friends, lovers, alone is okay.
