Dressing and hair styling by staff with 12 years of experience. Our staff will dress you in your kimono from the underwear to the obi. Our ancestors were shinobi samurai who started to serve Tokugawa Ieyasu (the first shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate) in 1582. The clan served the shogunate for 265 years. In 1868, the clan declined the invitation from the Meiji Government and became independent. We are the only lasting shinobi clan in Japan. We invite you to come to our clan dojo where real master practitioner and professional interpreters take charge of all workshops and seminars. This is good for people who want to get a deeper insight into our ninja and samurai cultures . We still handcraft our tools and weapons. Feel free to ask any questions as we have kept our shinobi samurai tradition for over 450 years.Our ancestors trained locals and their servants to be shinobi.(Ninja is a new word used in movies. Shinobi is the word which was commonly used in the feudal times,)The term "shinobi samurai" is not well-known, but you can be one of the few who knows the history and shinobi philosophy and mindsets. You will also enjoy the unique taste of matcha, a Japanese green tea, and learn the correct way to drink it according to the Japanese tea ceremony tradition. Visit Kimono Rental Shop Yui, a 4-minute walk from Asakusa Station and a 2-minute walk from Kaminarimon. Choose from a wide range of kimonos and summer yukatas suitable for various occasions. Once you're dressed, our staff will provide you with a hairstyle and colorful accessories that suit you. Footwear (Japanese wooden sandals, geta) and a traditional handbag complete the dressing experience. Kimono Rental Shop Yui offers a wide range of kimonos, from easy-to-wear light kimonos for walking around the city to traditionally made silk kimonos for formal occasions. The owner is a trained tea ceremony artist and will complement the experience with a short lesson on how to drink matcha tea according to Japanese tradition. For the rest of the day, feel free to wander the beautiful streets of the Asakusa district at your own pace until 5:30 PM, when you will return your kimono. If you choose the photo shoot option, a professional photographer will accompany you and show you the most photogenic spots around Sensoji Temple and the Sumida River. The session will last 60 minutes and your photos will be sent to you for editing and download within a week.

Learn basic washi ink techniques and washi paper cutting, and create your own original washi art work (one postcard and A5 size washi art). Washi ink is an original design tool. Ink is made by melting colored washi paper. By using that ink, you can make your art colorful. By the way, when was the last time you wrote a letter? Write a letter to your loved ones using the postcard you created! (Stationery will also be provided).
