In addition to observing the starry sky with the naked eye, astronomical observations using a Newton-type reflective telescope with a focal length of 800 mm and a diameter of 200 mm are also performed. What you see, such as stars, moons, and comets will change depending on the conditions of the day. If the weather is good, shooting stars can be seen frequently. Even if you are empty-handed, you can participate with your camera and your own telescope!

During the snowy season, you will walk through Shiretoko National Park, a World Heritage Site, on snowshoes. If there is no snow, you will walk without snowshoes. You will walk through natural forests and see waterfalls and giant icicles flowing into the Sea of Okhotsk, and depending on the season, drift ice. You can mainly observe Ezo deer and wild birds. Unlike in the summer, Kaminoko Pond can only be accessed on foot in the winter using snowshoes. A blue pond in a world of silver. What a strange sight. The water is so clean that you can see the bottom of the pond, which is about 5 meters long. On your return trip, your nature guide will provide easy-to-understand explanations about Hokkaido's nature while you stroll through the pine forest. A snowshoe trek to Lake Mashu during the mid-winter season starting in the afternoon. A nature guide will take you to the Uramashu Observation Deck, which is closed during the winter.
