[Chitose River Cruise] It's about a 20-minute drive from New Chitose Airport, and you'll be surprised to see such a rich natural environment in such a place... You'll go down the Chitose River with a guide, watching the fish swimming under the clear water and the small birds flying through the trees. We'll talk about a lot of things, such as Hokkaido's wildlife and vegetation, Ainu culture, and the history of development, while enjoying the breeze of nature! [Standard course] The journey is about 5.5 kilometers from the meeting point, Daiichi Usakumai Bridge, to under the highway overpass. The nature-rich Chitose River is home to wild birds such as kingfishers, crested kingfishers, and the recently popular long-tailed tit. Kingfishers sometimes even guide you... You can experience the thrill of a natural river, going over waves and passing through a tunnel of trees that protrude into the river! Of course, the guide will mainly steer the boat, so first-timers are also welcome!

As of 2024, Lake Shikotsu boasts the second highest transparency in Japan, and the Chitose River that flows from it. Enjoy the pleasure of river rafting, including gentle sections, narrow sections, and small but wavy sections! The guide will be in charge of the main maneuvering such as choosing the course and steering, so even those without experience are welcome!
