TOIMOK offers courses that allow you to fully enjoy the nature of Chitose and Tomakomai in central Hokkaido! Many people may think of Chitose and Tomakomai as airports and ferry terminals, but in fact they are sacred places for salmon, and there are many parks where birdwatchers from all over the country gather, and even today, rich nature is spread all over the place. The Chitose River, which is the main course, flows from Lake Shikotsu, which has one of the highest transparency in the country, and the Naibetsu River, a tributary that joins it halfway, has been selected as one of the 100 famous waters in Japan. In summer, the riverbed is colored with the water flower of the baikamo, which is rarely seen these days. In autumn, many kinds of maples and Japanese maples turn red and welcome us. Because the river is full of nature, it is also a paradise for living creatures. You may be able to find many salmon relatives, such as chum salmon, cherry salmon, and rainbow trout! Looking out over the surrounding trees, you can see the kingfisher, a waterside jewel that has been at the forefront since ancient times, the great tit, a bird with grammar, the Japanese long-tailed tit that has quickly risen to stardom, the crested kingfisher, a bird that birdwatchers long for, and if you listen carefully, you can even hear the drumming of a woodpecker. The river flows neither too fast nor too slow, so even beginners can enjoy river rafting! Conveniently located less than 30 minutes from New Chitose Airport, you can come directly from the airport or make a lasting memory on your way home. Of course, we look forward to the participation of people from within Hokkaido!
主人と二人でカナディアンカヌーでの川下りに参加させて頂きました。
札幌からの参加。集合場所も分かりやすく駐車場の広さも十分。トイレもすぐ近くなので便利。
直ぐにガイドさんとも落ち合えました。
天気も良く、始まったばかりの紅葉や時々見れる鮭に感動。途中ガイドさんが入れてくれたコーヒーでまったりしたのも気持ち良かったなぁ。
1時間半はあっという間に終わってしまいます。
ガイドさんはカヌーの技術はもちろんプロなので安心。波の高い所などは予め教えてくれるので何の心配も無く乗っていられますよ。
私達は全く「漕ぐ」事なくツアーは終了。
周りの植物や木々に関するお話も楽しかったです。
星を4.5にしたのは、少し自分でも漕いでみたかったから。ただ、川の流れがあるのでみんなで漕いだら1時間かからないで終わってしまいそうですが(笑)

鮭が見れたり、幸運にも天然記念物の野鳥にも会えました！
高齢の両親と4歳の子供がいたので少々心配していましたが、終始安全でした。
経験豊富なガイドさんがほぼ漕いでくれたので、私達はゆっくり景色を見ながら写真を撮ることが出来ました（任せっきりにしてしまい、すみません笑）

とゆう理由でアクティビティを決めました。
いざ終わってみたら、想像の10倍以上楽しめて、あっという間の1時間半でした。
まず、カナディアンカヌーに乗るだけでも楽しく、川の流れも思っている以上に早い事も相まって、秋風がとっても気持ちよかったです。
透明度抜群の川は見ているだけで心地よかったです。住宅街と道路に隣接している川ですが、植物によって、カヌーの目線からは見えないようになっております。自然の中を探検しているような気持ちにもなります。
ガイドのお兄さんが、とても楽しく自然についてお話してくださり、すぐにお友達に話したくなるような！知識が身につきます（笑）
そして何と！鮭も見つけられて！！すごく嬉しかったです。泳いでいる鮭を見るのは初めてで、中々に早く泳いでいたのでびっくりでした！
産卵をしようとしている鮭はあまり動かずじっとしているので、お写真にも収められます！
詳しくお話してくださった事を書くと、楽しみが減ってしまうので！是非川の上でガイドを聴いてほしいです。
また、カヌーは一切漕がず、悠々と乗っていられるので、難しさはございません。(パドルを渡していただけるので、漕ぐ体験もできそうですが)
体力には自信が無いけれど、自然の中のアクティビティしてみたいな！自然のお写真を撮りたいな！とゆう方には、とてもオススメです！！

当日は天気にも恵まれ、目的のサケの遡上にも出会えた、少し水の増え、とても良いコンディションで笑いの絶えないツアーだったと思います。

急に1人で川のレジャーに行きたくなり、いろいろ探していたところ、札幌からも行きやすい千歳川でカヌーが体験できるということで予約しました。公共交通機関で行ける集合場所だったのがありがたかったです。前日にもかかわらず対応していただいて感謝です♪
ガイドのお兄さんは今年独立したばかりという爽やかな方。4月からほぼ毎日千歳川を下っているとのことで頼りになりました。
初めてのカヌー体験だったのですが、カヌーのことはもちろん、千歳川の植物や動物の話をきっかけにとても話が盛り上がって、期待以上の楽しさでした。清流を下り、鳥の声と川の流れの音を聴きながら、釧路川でも長年カヌーをされていた経験豊富なお兄さんとの会話を楽しみました。ただ漕ぐだけじゃなくて、学びたい、知識も深めたいという人にぴったりだと思いました。
この時期の千歳川では、カワセミやエゾリス、遡上するサケ、水中に咲く白い花をつけるバイカモなど、北海道ならではの素敵な動植物を見ることができ、始まりかけた黄葉など、季節を感じることもできました。
カヌー上で美味しい緑茶も入れてもらって、川でのんびり過ごす最高の休日でした！！

Since my grandmother's house was in Hokkaido, I often came to Hokkaido from my childhood. I remember that my uncle, who was a timetable expert and was in the tourism industry, took me to all kinds of places. Thanks to him, I was able to cover most of the tourist spots in Hokkaido. Seven years ago, I came to Kushiro and started working as a canoe guide. After guiding the source of the Kushiro River in Teshikaga Town and the Kushiro Marshlands, I moved to Tomakomai City in 2024 and became independent. (I still often go to guides on the Kushiro River.) I have always loved nature and often jumped into the grass, and I remember jumping in and getting bitten by caterpillars and saying "Guu... nature... guu...". I am still learning, but I think I am somewhat knowledgeable about birds, salmon (salmonidae), trees, brown bears (Hokkaido's mammals), Ainu culture, and wild plants, so please feel free to ask me anything! From my late teens to early twenties, I wandered around overseas (about 50 countries?). The story of being scammed in India is now a nostalgic memory... kuu... Around this time, I was feeling lonely, sad and insecure abroad, and I almost gave up, but I think my shy personality has improved a little. Coupled with my work as a guide, I am now seen as a cheerful person, which is a rare occurrence. In the winter, I often go to help out at the Japanese restaurant my brother runs in Senegal, West Africa. This has gotten long, so I'll tell you more on the tour!
