【For Rainy Days】 Eastern Hokkaido in Hiking /walking
- Age 10~Age 75
- Over 6 hours on the day
Summer in Hokkaido is something that everyone wants to visit at least once. We will guide you through "Okhotsk", which is rich in nature even in Hokkaido, for a leisurely day. The theme of the Shiretoko area is "to fully enjoy nature". In the morning, a guided walk around the Shiretoko Goko Lakes takes you through the representative fields of Shiretoko. We will pick you up at a restaurant in Utoro for lunch. The remaining half day is trekking in the primeval forest. We will take you to a place with a superb view of cliffs and waterfalls by walking along the animal trail. You can immerse yourself in the charm of the world natural heritage Shiretoko through encounters with wild animals and dynamic scenery. *If the Shiretoko Five Lakes are closed due to brown bear appearances, snowfall, etc., there may be cases where the morning and afternoon tours are replaced, another course is offered, and the tour ends in half a day (in that case, a refund will be given). Please forgive me in advance. ◆This facility is registered as a nationwide travel support store that handles regional coupons. "Regional Coupons" can only be used for local payments.
Kanako san was knowledgeable about the area and shared a lot of information. There was slight rain and she had equipment for rent. Bears are more active this period so a guide is needed for the five lakes. She was experienced about bears and I felt safe with her as the guide.

This is a trek that goes all around the Shiretoko Five Lakes designated as a special reserve of Shiretoko National Park, UNESCO's World Natural Heritage Area, including elevated wooden paths. This is Japan's first revolutionary Forest Adventure experience in which a licensed leader guides the area where brown bears live. In addition to the lake, you can observe seasonally changing nature, such as sika deer, red fox, wild birds, alpine plants, and autumn leaves. Because they are not fed, all creatures they encounter are real wildlife. Please contact us as it may be possible to respond to times that are not in the selection column.

Walk in Shiretoko National Park, a World Natural Heritage Site, with snowshoes during the snowy season. If there is no snow, walk without snowshoes. As you walk through the natural forest, you can see waterfalls and huge icicles flowing in the Sea of Okhotsk, and drift ice depending on the season. You can mainly observe Yezo deer and wild birds. You may also see eagles, woodpeckers, and flying squirrels, which are natural monuments.
I came alone, but the guide was very nice and still tried his best to explain things to me and take care of me. Overall, it was still very worthwhile to experience this trip:)

If it's clear, we'll head to a scenic spot where you can see all the way to Cape Shiretoko, the tip of the Shiretoko Peninsula. The walk is not a promenade, but an exciting course that follows an animal trail. Along the way, there is a place where you can see a waterfall cascading from a cliff over 100m high, allowing you to enjoy the dynamic scenery of Shiretoko. The forest, home to wild animals such as brown bears, Ezo deer, and black woodpeckers, and the spectacular view overlooking the Sea of Okhotsk, where drift ice comes in winter, are recommended for those who want to experience the World Heritage Site of Shiretoko. It's a forest walk that will make you feel the great nature of Shiretoko and make you want to take a deep breath.
