Nogawa Nature School will advance to Kansai. This tour will be hosted by Ryo from the Tokyo school and staff member Muro from Kyoto. Meet at Kyoto Station, and reserve a business hotel for each person. This is a car-only trip to the river. The next day, we will depart at 7:00 and search for Japanese pond turtles in the Lake Biwa water system. The main focus of the Kyoto tour is observing the giant salamander, a natural monument. In addition, we will guide you to several points in Kyoto and capture aquatic insects, amphibians, red-bellied newts, and river crabs. The main tour is at night, but the next day, we will search for Japanese pond turtles by rummaging around the Lake Biwa water system from the morning. We look forward to your participation.

Have fun learning about tea in a tea-producing area that has been around since the Heian period! You can enter the beautiful tea fields, take photos of yourself as a tea girl, tour the factory, and brew delicious tea in a teapot, all of which can be enjoyed by people of all ages. In May, July, and September, you can also choose to pick tea leaves as an option. You can take the tea leaves home with you, and children's costumes are also available for the popular tea girl experience! Parent-child participation is also recommended. You can access the area by renting a bicycle from JR Sasayamaguchi Station. It takes about 12 minutes to get there while admiring the beautiful tea fields.

The thatched houses in Miyama Town are Kitayama-style houses with a gabled roof on the upper part and a Yodo-style roof on the lower part. Currently, there are about 50 buildings in the village, including about 40 thatched houses (most of which are residential), and in 1993, the village was designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings by the national government. Umeyama Winter Snow Lantern Lighting Event: (Held from January 25th to February 1st) Thatched Mountain Villa Village Light-up Event Approximately 78 snow and flower lanterns, 200 LED lanterns, and 50 lanterns are lit up, illuminating the thatched mountain villas at night.
