By turning your handmade work into a kakejiku, you can experience Japanese culture in depth. Our company was founded in 1936 and has been providing traditional crafts for over 80 years. By drawing calligraphy or a painting with a brush and ink, you can enjoy a unique Japanese experience. Kakejiku uses techniques with over 1000 years of history to create a work of wabi-sabi that is refined for beauty and preservation. You can choose to make a full-fledged kakejiku or a simple magnetic tapestry, and take home the work you made that day.

The kaleidoscope was invented by a Scottish optician, and was a toy that had already been imported to Japan during the Edo period. "Kobo Seikan" has a workshop, shop, and cafe, and you can enjoy a tour of the Yamanaka lacquerware production site, experience turning the wood, and enjoy shopping, lacquerware, and cafes and sweets. In this course, we will visit the studio (I will explain) ~ Making a vase ~ Lacquerware experience at a cafe (with a drink) Here, the lacquerware craftsmen are working every day. In this experience, you can observe it up close and learn about lacquerware production. The staff will give you easy-to-understand instructions. Next, you will make your own original flower vase using the wood turning wheel and plane that the craftsmen actually use. You can experience full-fledged wood sawing through making single flower vase. Most of the shapes are carved by yourself, so it's a little bit difficult, but it's fun! ! ! A friendly wood craftsman will teach you carefully, so you can make it yourself until the final completion. You will be satisfied. It is fun. After that, you can enjoy drinks made with lacquerware and sweets at the cafe. Please relax and enjoy the lacquerware experience. If you have any questions, feel free to ask the staff or craftsmen. "Studio Seikan" is a facility with a workshop, shop and cafe, where you can visit the manufacturing site of Yamanaka lacquerware, experience woodturning, shop, and enjoy cafe and sweets with lacquerware. This course includes a workshop tour (with explanation) - making a vase - lacquerware experience at the cafe (one drink included). Lacquerware craftsmen work here every day. In this experience, you can observe them up close and learn about lacquerware production. The staff will explain it in an easy-to-understand way. Next, you will make your own original lacquered chopsticks at the place where the craftsmen actually work. Think about the design of the chopsticks and paint them with real lacquer. You can experience authentic lacquer painting. The lacquer craftsmen will teach you carefully, so you can make them yourself until they are completed. You will surely be satisfied. It's fun. After that, you can enjoy drinks made with lacquerware at the cafe and taste sweets. Please relax and enjoy the lacquerware experience. Please feel free to ask the staff or craftsmen if you have any questions. Lacquer can cause a rash, but we check beforehand and use gloves to prevent it from coming into contact with the skin, so even small children can experience it. [Goshuincho] Handmade experience A workshop where you can make your own [Goshuincho], an essential item for the Shikoku Pilgrimage and Shikoku Trip. Why not make your own original Goshuincho using [Shuso Washi], a traditional culture of Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture? After visiting the Shuso Washi Workshop (Kuniyasu, Saijo City), you can also purchase your favorite washi paper at the neighboring Washi Museum and make a Goshuincho with that washi paper. *Reservations and confirmations are required to visit the workshop. While you wait for the binding, try experiencing another traditional culture of Ehime Prefecture, [Mizuhiki]! Ehime's Mizuhiki is a traditional craft in eastern Ehime Prefecture (Shikoku Chuo City), and has a very long history as a Japanese culture that has continued since the Asuka period (592~) to the present day. At "Satsuma Tinware Iwakiri Bikodo", both adults and children can experience making tin plates that are larger than usual (14.5 cm in diameter).
