To this day, the company has dedicated itself to the creation of Nishijin-ori obi (sashes). At the workshop, you'll learn about the history of Nishijin-ori and the techniques of its artisans while touching the actual weaving tools used. You'll also get a close-up tour of the jacquard loom, where you'll experience the craftsmanship and power of the loom. During the hand weaving experience, you'll weave a table center approximately 20cm x 30cm on a special hand loom. The texture changes depending on the strength of the weave and the tension of the weft thread, creating a fascinating experience that will leave you lost in time. You can take home your table center on the day. In addition to obi and kimonos, you can also see "art weaving," where famous paintings and photographs are woven into fabric. This tour, packed with content, will allow you to deeply understand the appeal of Nishijin-ori while listening to the sounds of the looms in a workshop built in the Taisho era.
