Mutsunohana is a Japanese restaurant that is open only for lunch two days a week (Wednesdays and Thursdays), located in Kawada-cho, Sabae City, which is known for producing Echizen lacquerware. The owner, who wanted to deepen his knowledge of Japanese culture, trained as a chef in Kyoto and also experienced Italian cuisine in Tokyo. While the cooking style is not limited to Japanese or Western cuisine, we use plenty of Fukui's seasonal ingredients centered on cha-kaiseki (tea kaiseki cuisine). I am serving. Experience matcha green tea with Kutani ware in a tatami room in a townhouse full of culture. The current owner, Mr. Yukio Uchida, takes over the pottery shop in his parents' house, and he himself creates works by overglaze painting as a Kutani ware artist. In addition to being able to see and purchase Kutani ware at the shop on the 1st floor, the atelier on the 2nd floor of the machiya-style pottery shop is open to the public, allowing visitors to see Mr. Uchida painting. We also serve matcha green tea in Kutani tea bowls made by the artist. Come and experience the world of Kutani ware, which flourished in an elegant culture.

Create shapes with your own hands! You can experience the potter's wheel! A professional kiln that creates the "shape" of Kutani ware and creates the base material. Miyayoshi Seito boasts one of the largest scales in this Kutani ware production area, creating a truly diverse range of shapes, from small chopstick rests to large urns and plates with a diameter of 50 cm or more. That's no wonder, Miyayoshi Seito's factory boasts the best types of molding in the production area, and you can use various types of tools, machines, and human hands to shape pottery. In this program, you will experience making pottery on a potter's wheel and visit the factory, which is the most basic of Miyayoshi pottery.

Enjoy Kutani and the stylish tradesman culture in a retro-modern townhouse. Komatsu's old town area was formed around Komatsu Castle, which used to be here. The artist, Yukio Uchida, is the only artist in this area where the stylish tradesman culture, including Kabuki and Hikiyama, still remains, and is the only person involved in the production of Kutani ware. He is also the owner of "Toraya Ceramics Store", which has a store in a renovated building of the traditional architectural style "Komatsu Machiya". In this program, under the guidance of Mr. Uchida, Kutani ware painting of "Kutani style" will be performed in a retro-modern Komatsu Machiya. After the experience, enjoy the many furnishings and tasteful atmosphere stored in the tea room with all five senses while tasting the matcha tea that Mr. Uchida himself makes in the tea room. * For foreign nationals: Information on the day will be in Japanese only.
