The current owner, Mr. Yukio Uchida, takes over the pottery shop in his parents' house, and he himself creates works by overglaze painting as a Kutani ware artist. In addition to being able to see and purchase Kutani ware at the shop on the 1st floor, the atelier on the 2nd floor of the machiya-style pottery shop is open to the public, allowing visitors to see Mr. Uchida painting. We also serve matcha green tea in Kutani tea bowls made by the artist. Come and experience the world of Kutani ware, which flourished in an elegant culture.

Would you like to make your own Kimekomi work? We will prepare the bare wood in a carved state in advance, so you can make your own product just by choosing your favorite cloth and applying the wood grain. Experience the "Paulownia Kimekomi Zaiku" that can only be experienced at Hakocho. We will prepare a box that has already undergone the "carving" process, so you can freely choose the fabric yourself, and then "color" and "kimekomi".

Create shapes with your own hands! You can experience the potter's wheel! A professional kiln that creates the "shape" of Kutani ware and creates the base material. Miyayoshi Seito boasts one of the largest scales in this Kutani ware production area, creating a truly diverse range of shapes, from small chopstick rests to large urns and plates with a diameter of 50 cm or more. That's no wonder, Miyayoshi Seito's factory boasts the best types of molding in the production area, and you can use various types of tools, machines, and human hands to shape pottery. In this program, you will experience making pottery on a potter's wheel and visit the factory, which is the most basic of Miyayoshi pottery.
