Kintsugi is a repair technique in which cracks, chips, and other damaged parts of ceramics are glued together with lacquer and decorated with gold and other metal powder. It is also called Kintsukuroi. At our salon, we use simple lacquer instead of real lacquer, and we finish at a reasonable price. Tableware that holds a special meaning can be revived by Kintsugi, and upgraded by applying gold. We accept lessons and orders. Try your hand at making an authentic parquet keychain by cutting and gluing parquet blocks that make use of the natural wood color! Wood comes in a variety of colors, from brown, red, yellow, and even purple. The parquet block bars that form the basis of parquet work are made in advance by instructor Matsuura. You cut them with a craftsman's saw and combine them to make hearts, leaves, and any other shape you like. Neriko is a black pill-shaped incense that was widely used during the Heian period. In The Tale of Genji, there is a scene in which Hikaru Genji, Murasaki no Ue, and other characters are actually created and evaluated, and it is still known as one of the Six Kinds of Kaorumono. It is also used in front of the charcoal in winter during tea ceremonies. Nerika is not something to be used at room temperature, but rather to be warmed to enjoy its aroma. We placed lit charcoal in an incense burner filled with ashes, placed incense sticks on top of the warmed ashes, and enjoyed the scent that wafted through the air.
