This is a tea mat weaving experience at the Genta Dyeing and Weaving Studio. Just choose your favorite color of thread and weave! From small children to the elderly, even first-time weavers are welcome♪ Foreigners can also enjoy weaving with hand gestures and go home. We have received comments that it is "pretty good" as a mouse pad. Since it is an indoor activity, you don't have to worry about the weather. You can experience it in the quaint workshop inside the castle of Aya International Craft. Staff who have been weaving for nearly 50 years will teach you carefully. ~ Flow of the day ~ ① Choose thread Choose your favorite color from the prepared thread. ② Staff explanation Staff will explain how to weave while demonstrating. ③ Weaving experience Feel free to weave. If you are quick, it will take about 15 minutes. ④ Finishing Staff will finish the fringe and it's finished. Please take it home and enjoy it.

A special experience to learn the traditional techniques of Oshima Tsumugi at the historic factory of "Megumi Kinu Orimono", a tsumugi workshop that has been in operation for three generations on Amami Oshima. You can observe and experience the representative techniques of "Kasuri mat mesh breaking" and "Surikomi", and in the Japanese-style room, you can carefully observe the differences in kasuri and weaving using a magnifying glass. You can take a peek into the deep world of Oshima Tsumugi. After the experience, you will receive an original strap. ~Schedule of the day~13:00 Learn the entire process of making Oshima Tsumugi Based on photographic materials, the production process of Oshima Tsumugi is carefully explained, from thread making to weaving. Even beginners can easily understand the whole picture. 13:20 Experience the mechanism and technique of kasuri mats While looking at the blueprint, you will learn about the structure of kasuri mats and the "me-breaking" technique, and experience "surikomi" coloring. It is a valuable time to experience the actual process. 13:40 Observe the rolls of fabric and choose a strap Learn about the types of Oshima Tsumugi rolls and observe the kasuri patterns with a magnifying glass. Finally, choose your favorite Oshima Tsumugi strap to take home.

You can learn about and experience the charms of Oshima Tsumugi in a calm Japanese space renovated from an Oshima Tsumugi factory. Experience an Amami-like outfit that can only be found here, incorporating original Amami Bingata obi and accessories. Afterwards, head to the downtown area, Yango Street. Relaxing in a cute cafe and tasting the specialty sweets of Yufuin is sure to make you feel happy~ *Next, we will explore Lake Kinrin. Famous for its mysterious mist, hot springs and crystal clear water, this lake is an amazingly beautiful tourist attraction. The lakeside Tenju Shrine and the torii gates in the lake create a mysterious and fantastic atmosphere as if you were lost in a fairy tale land. *If you love animals, you can't miss Kyushu Natural Zoo. It is Japan's largest wildlife park, where you can ride a cute jungle bus and interact with animals such as lions, elephants and giraffes. In the small animal petting area, you can also interact with dogs and cats, which is sure to get you excited. *The trip to Beppu Onsen will visit one of the highlights of Kyushu, the famous "Umi Jigoku" and "Kahigashi Jigoku". These two hot spring pools are not only beautiful in scenery, but also have excellent spring quality. In particular, the celadon pool water in Umi Jigoku is just like the blue sea, but its temperature is a whopping 98 degrees! Known for its hot jets and traditional customs, Kagoshima Jigoku is an unmissable part of the Beppu Onsen experience. Experience the natural beauty and rich culture of Kyushu. Amamie Kobo is a quiet creative space renovated from an Oshima Tsumugi factory. Here, you can experience making your own original T-shirt using the "Amami Bingata" stencils, which are based on the plants and scenery of Amami. It's a special time to hand-dye your own one-of-a-kind shirt while feeling the nature and culture of the island. It's perfect as a memento of your trip or as a souvenir. ~Schedule for the day~10:00 Choose a T-shirt and decide on a designChoose a T-shirt in your preferred size and color, and decide on a design using the Amami Bingata stencils. There are motifs that are typical of Amami, such as plants and scenery. 11:00 Mix the pigments and start dyeingMix the pigments according to the design you have chosen, and dye the T-shirt with the base color. You can enjoy the unique flavor of handmade work. 11:30 Add a point pattern and finish it off by dryingAdd a point using the Bingata stencil to complete the design. Finally, dry it and your original T-shirt is ready!

This calligraphy class is located in Kamitori Arcade, near Kumamoto Castle and the Kumamoto Traditional Crafts Museum, in the center of Kumamoto City.A professional licensed instructor with over 15 years of teaching experience will teach you how to use calligraphy tools and how to write with a brush.Enjoy traditional culture like a local in a Japanese-style room that feels like a Japanese home, while looking out at the Japanese garden.
