This is a 3-night, 4-day training experience trip where you can make a small knife under the direct guidance of swordsmith Shohei Fujiyasu. Through the training experience, you will learn about the beauty and spirit that resides in Japanese swords, and the small knife you make yourself using the same process as a Japanese sword using tamahagane, the material of Japanese swords, is a one-of-a-kind treasure. A swordsmith will teach you the techniques of Japanese sword making and spend a whole day making a short sword with a blade length of less than 30 cm. During the experience, charcoal cutting, tamaheshi, tsutsubokashi, forging, unbending, fire making, soil placement, quenching, and blacksmith sharpening will be performed. The sword will then be registered and sharpened at a later date, and will be shipped to your home along with a registration certificate. If you select an option, you can also choose a Japanese sword such as a wakizashi (large) (small), katana, or tachi. Registration, packaging, and shipping fees are all included in the price. *Due to the Firearms and Swords Possession Control Act, the swordsmith will engrave the swordsmith's name on the sword. A 2-day, 1-night tour of Omikawa-tei, an old folk house with a history of over 150 years since the Edo period, located in Tako-cho, Chiba Prefecture, with overnight stay. On the first day, participants enjoyed sweets and coffee at a cafe in the town, followed by a tour of a Japanese temple and a Japanese sweets making experience. You will spend a whole day making a small scale attached to the Japanese sword. The material is the same as the Japanese sword, and the world's highest grade iron (tamahagane) is used. You can make a soil holder by yourself and insert a blade crest. Attach the blade, cut your name on it, make a scabbard, and sharpen it to complete it. Only at our studio can you experience making a small pattern and sharpening it. You will learn how to make a Japanese sword while working, and you will not know until you experience the work of striking iron to change its shape and create ripples, so I think it will be a great learning experience.
