Plan description

This is a 2-day, 1-night taxi tour where you can receive direct instruction from swordsmith Shohei Fujiyasu, appreciate Japanese swords, observe the training (making the base for Japanese swords), and experience hammering and copper plate name cutting. Through the tour, you will learn about the beauty and spirit that resides in Japanese swords. After staying at the famous Tsuchiyu Onsen in Fukushima City, on the second day we will take you to a Japanese lunch using Fukushima City specialties and to Nakano Fudoson, one of Japan's three Fudoson temples.

You can experience a part of Japanese sword making!

In addition to appreciating Japanese swords, you can also learn about forging, which is an important element in making Japanese swords (making the base of a Japanese sword = heating the iron material = tamahagane on a fire pit, and then hammering it with a hammer. You can observe the process of hammering and carving letters on a copper plate yourself.

You can visit famous places in Fukushima City!

On the second day, in addition to touring an exhibition of Kokeshi dolls, a specialty of Fukushima City, we also enjoyed a Japanese lunch using Yuzu miso, a specialty of Fukushima, and a visit to Nakano Fudoson, one of Japan's three Fudoson statues, and a visit to Michi, which opened in the spring of 2022. You can fully enjoy the charm of Fukushima City by visiting Fukushima Station.

Dress code - Must bring items	During the forging experience, holes may be made due to fire sparks, and charcoal powder may stain the pot. Please wear or bring your own clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.
