Kamakura is a popular tourist destination for Japanese and foreign visitors. It is a place where many Japanese traditions have been preserved along with nature. And it was a birthplace of the Kamakura shogunate known as the samurai regime. We are carrying out a SAMURAI Project to offer a Japanese cultural experience at the Kigen-in temple, usually not open to the public, located in the vicinity of JR Kita-Kamakura Station.
This plan offers the following experiences:
Japanese Kimono (In summer, yukata) with a hakama
Zen meditation
Practice with a wooden sword
Trial with a real sword
Relaxation at 80 year old tea house
Kamakura is a birthplace of Zen. This event is to be held at Kigen-in hall of Engaku-ji temple, which is famous for one of the five great Rinzai temples of Kamakura. The Kigen-in is usually not open to the public. Your time spent in a beautiful Japanese garden, the main hall of the temple and the tea room might be a very special experience.
We are very particular about venue, instructors, and materials.
We believe that Kimono, Zazen and Iaido experiences will remain as a special memory.
We can also arrange a professionals to take photos or video and can hand over the outcome to you.
"In this experience, children in orphanages and young people who have left the facility are working as support staff.
