The annual "The Charm of Kaga Hosho - Candlelight Noh Appreciation Event" will be held at the Ishikawa Prefectural Noh Theater. You can enjoy Noh in the fantastic light of candles. Enjoy a different atmosphere from the usual performances. There will also be explanations of the programs and demonstrations and explanations of how to put on costumes! Noh beginners can easily understand and appreciate it, so please take this opportunity to experience the traditional performing art of Noh. *Reservations on this site can be made up to 3 days before the performance. For reservations after that, please contact the Ishikawa Prefectural Noh Theater (076-264-2598).
Traditional performing arts may seem a little difficult to understand, but in this performance, the Noh performers will provide easy-to-understand explanations of the plays, allowing even beginners to experience Noh in an easy-to-understand way. The price is also reasonable! Free for high school students and younger. Please feel free to come and join us.
For this performance, the Noh will be performed by the light of candles set up in the venue. The movements of the performers, the expressions of the Noh masks, and the beauty of the costumes, all illuminated in the candlelight, will give you a slightly different impression from regular performances. Please enjoy the fantastical atmosphere that only a candle Noh performance can create.
The venue, Ishikawa Prefectural Noh Theatre, is within walking distance of Kenrokuen Garden, a famous tourist spot in Ishikawa Prefecture, as well as numerous cultural facilities such as the Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art, Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of History, and the National Crafts Museum. The Kanazawa Noh Museum, which displays Noh masks and costumes and also offers courses and experiences, is also within walking distance! Be sure to stop by during your sightseeing trip to Kanazawa.
