The Ishikawa Prefectural Noh Theater will be hosting a performance where you can enjoy a competition between different schools of Noh. This year's competition is Kyogen! You can enjoy a luxurious collaboration between the Izumi school, one of the two major schools of Kyogen, and Kurokawa Noh, a folk art form from Yamagata Prefecture. In addition to the Kyogen performances by each school, there will also be a discussion between Kyogen performers from both schools! Please take advantage of this rare opportunity. *Reservations on this site can be made up to three days before the performance. For reservations and ticket purchases after that, please contact the Ishikawa Prefectural Noh Theater (076-264-2598).
It is a rare opportunity to see two schools of Kyogen performed in one performance. Compare the differences between the schools and discover new charms of Kyogen.
The venue, Ishikawa Prefectural Noh Theatre, is located within walking distance of Kenrokuen Garden, a famous tourist spot in Ishikawa Prefecture, as well as numerous cultural facilities such as the Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art and the Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of History. The Kanazawa Noh Museum, which displays Noh masks and costumes and also offers courses and experiences, is also within walking distance! Be sure to stop by during your sightseeing trip to Kanazawa!
