An experienced guide will guide you through Yakushima's Shiratani Unsuikyo Gorge. It is a round-trip course of 4 to 5 hours to Taikoiwa. It is popular as a spot where you can overlook Yakushima's virgin forest, including the Yakusugi cedar trees that are over 1,000 years old. The large panorama of Mt. Miyanoura, Kyushu's highest peak, from Taikoiwa is an exhilarating view that will make you forget the fatigue of climbing.
