Aiming for the highest peak (1413m) in the Yamanakako area. After passing through the torii gate at the entrance to the mountain trail, 403 steps await you, and Ishiwari Shrine, which is enshrined at the 8th station, is said to be the stage of the large rock where Amaterasu Omikami hid in the legend of Ama no Iwato. There is a large crack in this large rock, and it is said that if you can walk around it three times clockwise, you will be blessed with good luck, and there is also a legend that the water that seeps out of the crack can cure skin and eye diseases. Along the way, you can enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Yamanaka from the mountaintop and the large Katsura tree, which is said to be the source of the Katsura River. This is a very satisfying hiking tour where you can fully enjoy history and nature at a power spot in a national park that is home to Mt. Fuji, Japan's proudest mountain!
