Fuji Outdoor Base staff introduction

  • Yuki Nakamura(ナカムラ ユウキ) Assigned events/Years of experience, etc.:Trekking, hiking and mountain climbing in general

Born in Shiga Prefecture. During university, he was a member of the art club and lived a life unrelated to the outdoors, but in his second year he became obsessed with backpacking and went astray in life. In pursuit of a more adventurous style, he took a leave of absence from school and went to the United States alone, despite the strong opposition of those around him, while his friends were job hunting. He took the bizarre step of cycling about 9,000 km from Alaska to Los Angeles in six months. After that, he continued to earn money in Japan and travel abroad, visiting 17 countries so far, including trekking and mountain climbing in North America, South America, and Nepal. He also somehow became able to speak English, and is now working as an English teacher. Since his fate of being born on February 23 (Mt. Fuji Day) led him to Fujiyoshida City, he has been completely immersed in the mountains, from rock climbing to winter mountain climbing and ice climbing. He is also a hunter who belongs to the local hunters' association. He wants to convey the grandeur and beauty of nature to many people.
