Due to the characteristics of silver, the surface may turn black. Works made with "Art Clay Silver ST" are resistant to tarnishing, and can be easily maintained to retain the original beauty and brilliance of silver for a long time. The silver surface after firing is fine, and the silver product is finished with a purity of 99% or more. *ST stands for Slow Tarnish. This is because water adhering to the surface of silver combines with sulfur components in the air to form silver sulfide. This silver sulfide film is the cause of the discoloration to dark brown or black. The premium course is a special menu using Art Clay Silver ST. The crafting time will take longer than the normal experience. It takes 3 to 4 hours. (If there are many participants, depending on the design, the production time may be longer. No extension fee will be charged.) To be frank, it is difficult to make genuine silver accessories. But don't worry. Art Clay Club certified instructors will guide you firmly. You can wear it on the day and go home. As with the regular course, you can freely make rings, pierced earrings, necklaces, straps, and anything you like with your favorite design. Takehara City (Hiroshima Prefecture) Townscape Preservation District, known as the Japan Heritage ``Takehara Old Townscape Preservation District'' and ``Aki's Little Kyoto'', has been designated as one of the top 100 cityscapes, and was also designated as a Japan Heritage Site in 2019. Ta. Takehara is said to have first been cultivated as a manor land for Shimogamo Shrine in Kyoto during the Heian period under the Private Property Law of Konta Eiten. During the Muromachi period, Mori Motonari's third son Takakage (who was adopted by the Kobayakawa family and became Takakage Kobayakawa) spent his childhood there. Takakage was one of the people who received the ``Three Arrows' teachings'' from Motonari and supported the Mori clan system. Later, in the late Edo period, it developed through salt fields and sake brewing, and it is said that it boasted an 80% share of Hiroshima prefecture's salt production at the time. There are three sake breweries: Taketsuru Sake Brewery, Fujii Sake Brewery, and Nakao Jozo. Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whiskey, known as the ``father of Japanese whisky,'' is from Takehara. Taketsuru Sake Brewery, Masataka's birthplace, still operates in the townscape preservation district to this day. Around this time when salt and sake were developing, Rai Sanyo, a Confucian scholar and author of ``Japanese Foreign History,'' which had a great influence on the patriots at the end of the Edo period, was active. The former home of Sanyo's grandfather, Kiyoshi Yoriyoshi, is located in the townscape preservation district. (Excerpt from the Japan Historical Travel Association) At the annual Takehara Longing Road, the town is beautifully illuminated with candlelight and bamboo lanterns set in the townscape preservation district. The atmosphere of the old house leaking through the lattice door is also very atmospheric, giving you the illusion of having traveled back in time.

This is an authentic ikebana lesson, a flower arrangement which is counted as one of the three major Japanese traditional arts of refinement. The venue is a long-established flower shop with a history of 70 years, which is located in a busy district of Hiroshima lined with many department stores. Currently the venue offers 46 culture classes in ikebana and tea ceremony. There is a huge flower shop downstairs of the classroom, so our lesson starts from selecting flowers and you may choose colors and types of flowers with an instructor. The venue is easy to access, so you can experience Japanese culture during your tour in Hiroshima if time permits between your sightseeing programs. Our school is very convenient to take an ikebana lesson in your preferred time, as we have many instructors and each instructor conducts several classes everyday from morning to the evening except Sundays. Enjoy ikebana as well as its porcelain vase, a unique art available only in Japan.
