Plan description

Join "ikebana" lesson held at Daisho-in, which is considered to be the oldest temple in Miyajima of Aki.​ ​

The lesson is held in the sitting room of the temple - a hall with the most beautiful scenic view.
While sitting on the tatami-floor, you can see the Seto Inland Sea and Hatsukaichi city on the other side.

Experience Japanese traditional culture through colorful flowers in the elegant hall with a long dignified history.

Our instructors are local flower artists: Erina Kawakane and Hisae Kuwabara.

This ikebana lesson must be a priceless experience as it is held in the temple hall usually off-limits to the public.​ ​

※English guide book「Daihonzan Daisho-in Temple of Miyajima Misen」will be presented.
※English speaking guide is available.

Ikebana experience makes you feel radiant

The venue, Daishoin, has 1000 years of history, weight, formality, and many important cultural properties. The atmosphere of the 98 stone steps leading to the precincts above the mountain gate "Niomon", which is the front entrance of the Daishoin, and the mountain gate. Occasional bell sounds and bird calls. By experiencing the scent of fluttering incense and the greenery and autumn leaves of the trees, you can touch the origin of the "Japanese temple". Please enjoy the tour along with the flower arrangement experience.
