This is a tea mat weaving experience at the Genta Dyeing and Weaving Studio. Just choose your favorite color of thread and weave! From small children to the elderly, even first-time weavers are welcome♪ Foreigners can also enjoy weaving with hand gestures and go home. We have received comments that it is "pretty good" as a mouse pad. Since it is an indoor activity, you don't have to worry about the weather. You can experience it in the quaint workshop inside the castle of Aya International Craft. You can feel free to experience mud dyeing, one of the processes of authentic Amami Oshima Tsumugi. We have T-shirts, shawls, eco bags, and handkerchiefs, so please come empty-handed. If you wish, we can change to the indigo dyeing experience. Please avoid white clothes as much as possible and wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Even beginners can enjoy hata weaving. You start by choosing a thread. It can be difficult until you get used to it, but once you do, you'll be able to weave rhythmically. You can weave within about 10cm using your favorite thread and take home what you have woven. You can display it as is or use it as a vase mat.
