Become yourself a sake master after taking part in EDGE OF NIIGATA's unique lecture. You will not only gain the skills to differentiate all the types of sake, but you will also learn the best food pairing options for each type. The lecture takes place in a renovated traditional Japanese home that is now a restaurant-café with a unique retro feel. First, you will receive our Sake presentation. Then, you can test your new skills with practice. Try four different types of Sake and match them with freshly prepared delicious traditional Japanese dishes.

Have you ever seen a huge calligraphy performance? Opportunities to experience calligraphy performance are limited, and it is something everyone should experience at least once in their life. Calligraphy performance is more than just writing, it is an art that reflects your heart. You can also relieve your daily fatigue and stress and have a dynamic and powerful experience. In this calligraphy performance experience, you will be able to write on one full sheet of paper (69cm x 136cm) and two pieces of paper cut in half (34.5cm x 136cm). You can take home your finished work. At the end of the experience, please add your name to the giant calligraphy work that I created, measuring approximately 2.5m x 5m. Experience location: The event will be held at a former Japanese confectionery store in Sadogashima, Niigata Prefecture. You can reach us by car or bus, and the bus stop is a 5-minute walk away. There is also free parking, which can be reached in just 30 seconds on foot. Language: You can choose from Japanese or English. Note: If the experience is for about 4 people, it will take about 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes. We can accommodate groups of 10 or more, but it may take longer than planned, so if you have a large group, please contact us in advance. Also, since you will be using ink in the experience, please come in clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. The experience includes: 1. Introduction 2. Demonstration 3. Practice 4. In the snowy room called "Hon-yara-do," there is a charcoal kotatsu that does not use electricity! You can eat rice cakes and sweets while sitting in the kotatsu. At night, candles are lit in the Hon-yara-do. *Fireworks and hotpots are available as options. *You can grill the "anbo" from the anbo experience on a charcoal grill and eat it. Staff will be able to speak simple English and use a translator. If you are unsure, we can also provide an interpreter (for a fee).
