We will also be searching for adult stag beetles from June to mid-September. From mid-September to the end of May, you will only be able to search for larvae. Meeting points will be Minami-Osawa Station, the Satoyama area of Fuchu, and the Satoyama area of Machida. What to bring: Plastic cases, gloves, insect repellent, helmets (to protect bicycles from falling trees), nets, hammers, etc. will be provided. (Parents are responsible for their children's hammers, but parents will generally be splitting the rotten wood and making it into an experience.) We look forward to your participation. The setting for this tour is the sacred Mount Takao. This internationally recognized Japanese holy site has been awarded three stars by the Michelin Green Guide Japan. Just one hour from central Tokyo, it offers a tranquil and lush natural environment that's hard to believe you're in Tokyo. Unlike a regular pilgrimage, this tour is accompanied by a monk who will guide you along the approach to Yakuoin Temple. This is a special pilgrimage experience, as you walk along the path to Yakuoin Temple, hearing about the history of Mount Takao and Yakuoin Temple. Experience the goma fire ritual up close at Yakuoin Temple, a rare experience even for Japanese people. It's a special time to pray for the fulfillment of your prayers by the sacred flames. After the goma fire ritual, head to Ukai Toriyama, a renowned restaurant surrounded by the natural beauty of Oku-Takao. Tour the gassho-style buildings remaining on the premises and view displays of tools and culture from ancient times. Afterward, enjoy a relaxing irori (traditional Japanese hearth) course featuring carefully selected ingredients in a tranquil setting in one of the private rooms scattered throughout the vast garden. The cable car is used for both the ascent and descent, minimizing the physical strain. Even first-timers and those who are not confident in their physical strength can participate with peace of mind. -Experience flow- 10:00 Meet at Takaosanguchi Station from various locations.
