Snow is fun! Experience making a mini snow igloo with Yokote's high-quality snow! Anyone can participate, including families with children and those who want to experience snow. Snow igloos are a seasonal feature of winter in Akita Prefecture. In Yokote, the "Yokote Snow Festival" is held every year on February 15th and 16th as a New Year's event to worship the water god, with a history of about 450 years. It is famous for the construction of about 80 snow igloos, each about 3 meters tall, throughout the city. In addition, about 2,000 "mini snow igloos" are made by local people and children every year at the venues of Yokote Minami Elementary School and Hebi no Sakigawahara, and candles are lit inside at night. Let's make an original mini snow igloo, one of a kind in the world, using the snow of Yokote, the home of snow igloos and a heavy snowfall area. After making the mini snow igloo, take a break with a hot drink. Candles will be lit in the mini snow igloo you made in the evening.
