Enjoy successive Isokichi works with luxurious commentary! Ikichi Fukaka Pottery Kiln is located in Yawata, where kilns for making figurines are concentrated. It has roots that the first generation was a pottery specializing in ceramics, and even now, we are doing everything from creating the ceramics to painting. This program is a studio tour in which Ms. Ikika Asakura, the daughter of Mr. Isokichi Asakura, the fourth generation, explains the studio, gallery, and works. At the end of the tour, you can actually use the works of the kiln and taste the coffee. *For foreign nationals: Information on the day will be in Japanese only.

Miyaso Ceramics Co., Ltd. has been making only figurines for over 100 years, even in the work of the potters who make the base of Kutani ware. The existence of molds is also indispensable in order to continue to elaborately create figurines of complex shapes. At Miyaso Ceramics, there is a stationary archive that has been accumulated in the warehouse for 100 years, along with the technique of making figurines. In this program, such a stationary world will be unveiled for the first time in Japan. Experience matcha green tea with Kutani ware in a tatami room in a townhouse full of culture. The current owner, Mr. Yukio Uchida, takes over the pottery shop in his parents' house, and he himself creates works by overglaze painting as a Kutani ware artist. In addition to being able to see and purchase Kutani ware at the shop on the 1st floor, the atelier on the 2nd floor of the machiya-style pottery shop is open to the public, allowing visitors to see Mr. Uchida painting. We also serve matcha green tea in Kutani tea bowls made by the artist. Come and experience the world of Kutani ware, which flourished in an elegant culture.

Create shapes with your own hands! You can experience the potter's wheel! A professional kiln that creates the "shape" of Kutani ware and creates the base material. Miyayoshi Seito boasts one of the largest scales in this Kutani ware production area, creating a truly diverse range of shapes, from small chopstick rests to large urns and plates with a diameter of 50 cm or more. That's no wonder, Miyayoshi Seito's factory boasts the best types of molding in the production area, and you can use various types of tools, machines, and human hands to shape pottery. In this program, you will experience making pottery on a potter's wheel and visit the factory, which is the most basic of Miyayoshi pottery.
