In winter, Shiretoko's famous waterfall, Furepe Falls, turns into blue icicles, and the spray of the falls, blown by the north wind, creates a mysterious shape. Behind Furepe Falls, the silvery Shiretoko mountain range stands, and during the drift ice season from late January to early March, a majestic drift ice field spreads out below. To reach Furepe Falls, you will put on snowshoes (Western snow shoes) and walk freely through the forest, searching for forest creatures and their traces. Places that are difficult to access from spring to autumn become walkable thanks to snow and snowshoes, so this tour is characterized by many new discoveries. Enjoy the spectacular scenery that is typical of Shiretoko and the snowshoeing experience together. *Due to the lack of sufficient snowfall from early to late December and late March, there is a high possibility that you will be guided in boots instead of snowshoes. In that case, we will guide you to the "Furepe Falls Nature Walk" tour in the same area during the snow-free season (adults: 3,100 yen, children: 2,000 yen). Thank you for your understanding.

This tour will take you on a drive to search for creatures that represent Shiretoko in winter. The main focus will be on large birds of prey, such as Steller's sea eagles and white-tailed eagles, which are designated as natural monuments and visit Shiretoko in winter. You can use binoculars and telescopes to observe their fearless faces as they stare intently at the sea and rivers, searching for prey, and you may even see them diving into the sea to hunt fish. The excitement of finding a large eagle with a body length of 1m and a wingspan of over 2m will be an unforgettable memory. During this tour, you may also encounter Ezo deer and red foxes. *The number of eagles seen will decrease from mid- to late March. *The tour will mainly be by car, but we will occasionally get off the car to observe. Please wear shoes that can walk on snow (snow boots, ankle-length boots, boots, etc.). *Binoculars are available for free rental (no application required).

The greatest feature of this tour is that you can enjoy the untouched nature of Shiretoko on snowshoes in areas that do not have well-maintained walking trails and still retain their pristine nature. During the tour, you can stop at a viewpoint with a spectacular view of the tip of the Shiretoko Peninsula, where you can see the hidden waterfalls that flow from the cliffs, frozen by the freezing cold. During the drift ice season, you will be amazed by the overwhelming beauty of the Okhotsk Sea covered in drift ice, and the silvery white Shiretoko Mountains towering behind the cliffs. On this tour, you will have a high chance of encountering wild animals such as Ezo deer and Ezo red foxes, so you can enjoy the winter nature of Shiretoko to the fullest. *Due to the lack of sufficient snowfall from early to late December and late March, there is a high possibility that you will be guided in boots instead of snowshoes. In that case, we will guide you to the same area tour in the snow-free season, "Shiretoko Primeval Forest & Spectacular Cliffs Trekking" (Adults: 5,100 yen, Children: 2,600 yen). We are a group of 5 pax and we had a great walk with Kanako san as our guide. We saw bear claws mark on the tree, bear paws print, deer skull and things we would have miss if we were to walk on our own. A deer suddenly ran towards us and stayed with us during our walk and Kanako San told us it not a good sign as the deer might have been spooked by a bear. It was a beautiful and exciting walk for us. Highly recommend Kanako san for your guided walk.

Even during busy periods such as summer vacation and autumn holidays, you can experience the tranquility of Shiretoko here. This course passes through old development sites and forests to see the groundwater waterfalls that flow into the Sea of Okhotsk. On clear days, you can see the 200m high cliffs that stretch all the way to Cape Shiretoko. Like "Furepe Falls," this is a course to see cliff waterfalls, but this one is a bit wilder, with no walking trails and requiring climbing over logs. If it becomes dangerous due to a storm or other reasons, we will contact you by mobile phone and, if you wish, we will cancel (free of charge) or introduce you to an available tour the next day or later (same price).

This is a limited-time tour only available in autumn. You can observe the creatures in the river where Okhotsk salmon and autumn salmon naturally spawn. You can see salmon, of course, but also other creatures such as creatures that target fish and birds that steal eggs. Sometimes you can observe them close enough to take photos with your smartphone. The guide will prepare a filter that allows you to take beautiful photos of the fish without shining the river surface. On the morning of the day of fishing, you can also observe the fish being landed at the "Utoro Salmon Terrace". Please choose a tour at 7 or 8 o'clock on a weekday. (Fishing is suspended on Sundays and in bad weather.) The salmon return situation changes depending on natural conditions. If there are no salmon nearby, you will move by car, so we recommend that you participate by rental car. In the event of bad weather, we will contact you to cancel (or postpone if you wish).

This special tour, only available in winter, involves walking through the forest at night on snowshoes. As you get used to the darkness and walk relying as much as possible only on your own eyes, the light of the snow, and the light of the stars, you will have a strange feeling as if a primitive power that had been sleeping inside you has returned. The sound of your feet crunching on the snow echoes through the silent forest at night, creating a tense atmosphere that is unique to this tour. If there is no moonlight and no clouds, countless stars will twinkle in the sky and you can enjoy stargazing. On the other hand, during a full moon, you can appreciate the beauty and brightness of the moon anew. Why not spend a fantastic night in Shiretoko on this tour?

When you think of Kushiro, many people will immediately think of red-crowned cranes. The sight of red-crowned cranes in winter is truly spectacular. There is no doubt that the beauty of the cranes against the snowy fields will impress anyone. There are places near Kushiro where you can see red-crowned cranes even in summer. Near Kushiro Airport are the Red-crowned Crane Nature Park and Kushiro City Zoo. You can learn a lot about red-crowned cranes and see them all year round. If you are lucky, you may find a zookeeper there who will call you close to them. Kushiro City Zoo is also home to the Red-crowned Crane Conservation and Breeding Center. - Example - Kushiro Airport ⇒ Red-crowned Crane Nature Park ⇒ Kushiro Marsh Observation Deck ⇒ Kushiro City

It is a canoeing experience of about 8 km on the Kushiro River, which flows through the Kushiro Marsh. The meeting place is JR Senmo Line, Toya Station. This is the most downstream course starting from Hosooka Canoe Port and going down to Iwahogi Floodgate. This area retains the original appearance of the marshland with few trees and many open landscapes. The meandering of the Kushiro River is also the most frequent course. Of course, the guide will ride with you, so please leave the operation of the canoe to us. We also have a Kushiro Wetland long course of about 17 km that combines the forest course and the wilderness course! 〜Experience Flow〜 (For the 8:00 course) Meet at 8:00 JR Senmo Line Toya Station Please be at Toya Station at the start time of the tour. It takes about 90 minutes (8km) to slowly descend the area downstream from the middle stream in Kushiro Marsh. * In the case of strong winds, it will guide you to the upper reaches of the marsh, which is less affected by the wind.
