Hinohara Village is the only village on land in Tokyo. Deep inside the village, on a ridge well over 700m above sea level, lies the old house "Kyu Kobayashi Family Residence". Built in the mid-Edo period (more than 320 years ago), this mountain house is literally an "old house in the sky". This tour, which takes you there by mountain monorail that goes straight up a super steep slope of nearly 45 degrees, is an extremely extraordinary experience that will leave a deep impression on your memory, both geographically and historically, as well as physically. The tour meets at the Tokyo Back Mountain Base in front of JR Musashi-Itsukaichi Station, and includes transportation to the site by private car. *Hinohara Village has been designated as a national ecotourism promotion area, and as an exception, transportation to the ecotour site by car is permitted. On this tour, you will pass through the streets of Kanaya, which once flourished as a stone-cutting industry, and climb the "Sharikko Road," a road that once transported quarried stone, with a guide. While enjoying the climb, which is low above sea level but has a large elevation difference, you will feel the breath of the craftsmen of the time, and trace the history of how Boso stone supported Japan's modernization and declined over time.

Nokogiriyama is known as a low-profile mountain on the Boso Peninsula. On its southern side is the grounds of Nippon-ji Temple, the imperial temple of Emperor Shomu, which will celebrate its 1,300th anniversary in 2025. This plan is a half-day tour to experience the charms of Nokogiriyama Nippon-ji Temple, starting from JR Yasuda Station, walking along the main approach to the temple and climbing Nokogiriyama from the mountain gate. Once inside the Nippon-ji Temple grounds, you can enjoy the mystical atmosphere of the tallest Buddha statue in Japan (as a seated statue and rock-carved Buddha), as well as the 1,500 arhat statues arranged on the mountainside. Climb the stairs to the top of the mountain, pass by the famous photo spots "Hell Peek" and "Hyakushaku Kannon", and then use the ropeway to return down the mountain.
