This vegetable dyeing is also used in some of the dyeing techniques of Oshima Tsumugi. At Amami-no-Sato, you can actually dye handkerchiefs and other cloth products with plant dyes to create original scarves in deep colors. After the experience, you can take a walk in the elegant Japanese garden that shows the expressions of the four seasons and the Amami-style garden that reproduces the virgin forest of Amami.

This is a tea mat weaving experience at the Genta Dyeing and Weaving Studio. Just choose your favorite color of thread and weave! I use various parts of the plant to get the color on the cloth. Put the dyeing plant in a pot and heat it to make a dyeing solution. Dye the cloth by immersing it in the liquid. Please note that the cloth used for dyeing is silk, cotton, linen and wool products and will not dye cloth made of chemical fibers.
