Plan description

This bamboo basket, called Shikai-nami, is about 13 cm in diameter and 10 cm in height. It was originally a flower basket, but can be used as a small item holder. It is made by weaving 16 bamboo strips provided. After the experience, you will be treated to tea and sweets, and a talk about bamboo will be given with videos and demonstrations.

You will weave the 16 bamboo strips we provide. It's not a difficult task as you start with the bottom of the basket already woven.

It's not just about making things, you'll learn more about bamboo!

After the bamboo baskets are completed, you will watch a video showing how the bamboo is cut from the mountains and how it is processed into strips, and you will hear a talk about bamboo, sometimes with demonstrations.
