Japanese binding is a traditional Japanese bookbinding technique that uses high-quality Japanese paper and linen thread, and has been passed down since the Heian period (794). In the workshop, we will start with ``Japanese paper dyeing'', which involves adding color to Japanese paper to create the cover of a notebook. ①Make the cover of your notebook by coloring Japanese paper. In this program, you can visit the blacksmith workshop that is operated in Kamakura by direct descendant of legendary sword master Masamune. Also you can appreciate and actually hold a Japanese sword which is, at present, regarded as a fine masterpiece of Art. This program is conducted with Japanese only.
