At that time, there were no schools, and Sashiko was passed down from parent to child. Therefore, there is not just one technique, but multiple techniques. The repair method is the same. Here we would like to introduce some of the sashiko mending and darning techniques. Trace the sketch using a brush with wax, then put on boots, apron, and gloves and dye it yourself. After dyeing, remove the wax you drew and you're done. The part drawn with wax remains white as the original fabric without being dyed, and you can easily create simple and deep works dyed with wax, such as shades due to the thickness of the wax and crack patterns due to wax cracks. A swordsmith will teach you how to make Japanese knives using blacksmith techniques. Using the same material as Japanese swords, Tamahagane, the forged iron is shaped with a hammer. You can make your own clay holder and add a blade crest. Attach the blade, cut your name on it, and sharpen it to complete it. Although it is a physically demanding job, the swordsmith will be happy to assist you, so don't worry if you are not confident in doing the heavy lifting, such as children or women. You can take photos and videos while working! The trial fee is for one Japanese knife. You can also make one book for two or more people. A swordsmith will teach you the techniques of Japanese sword making and spend a whole day making a short sword with a blade length of less than 30 cm. During the experience, charcoal cutting, tamaheshi, tsutsubokashi, forging, unbending, fire making, soil placement, quenching, and blacksmith sharpening will be performed. The sword will then be registered and sharpened at a later date, and will be shipped to your home along with a registration certificate. If you select an option, you can also choose a Japanese sword such as a wakizashi (large) (small), katana, or tachi. Registration, packaging, and shipping fees are all included in the price. *Due to the Firearms and Swords Possession Control Act, the swordsmith will engrave the swordsmith's name on the sword. It is possible to engrave the participant's name as well. In addition, registration and sharpening are required, so it will take 6 to 9 months to deliver the sword. *The address, name, and phone number are required for the owner's details for the registration review and for shipping the finished product.
